“First time at the Nickle Plate. Went there after Joy to the Grove. It was crowded and we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. Our server was fantastic! Despite being very busy she was very friendly and made some recommendations for us. Started with pretzel rails and they were great with the beer cheese dip served on the side. For the main event I went with the PB&J burger. AMAZING! It was a "real" burger, not frozen that had crunchy peanut butter and a spicy jelly on it along with some great seasoned bacon on a great roll. Came with pickles and chips or fries. Needless to say I mopped it up. Others had the tenderloin sandwiches which were also fantastic. The outside had a Christmas venue outside with a fire and small food items. Just a great place.“

“Good food and a good atmosphere with an even better selection of drinks. What's not to like? Food isn't only great food, but it's on the cheaper side also, unlike some other places around here. So, there is no need to worry about running your pockets dry while trying to have a good time. Everyone is always laid back and hanging out there as well. Not once have I gone there and had a rude or unsavory experience with someone. It seems like everyone there isn't worried about anything. They just want to chill out. It's a great place and always welcoming. Get something to eat and have something to drink. The people at Clayts Corner Tavern will take care of you. They are all good people there“

“I went here for lunch in the middle of the week and there were several people just hanging out having a great time. I ordered a couple food items and drinks and everything was great. The lady that served us was amazing and refilled our drinks several times. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area or even traveling by.“

“Food was great , but our service wasn't very knowledgeable in what drink selection they offered, I asked if they had southern comfort whiskey and she said no, but I stopped at the bar on the way out and they did. My burger was ordered medium rare, and I got it medium well, I didn't complain because it was my first night out in a while , but if I had, I'm sure they would have rectified it. Overall I'd go back again but just request a different server .“

“The live band was great. All the food was fresh and hot. The only disappointment was they had no bleenies, potato cakes. We were told they couldn't get anyone to do them. I know it's labor intensive. I grew up helping my elder Polish aunts to prepare for St. Joseph's block party in Shamokin. I can only hope our community will pull together to make them next year. “We are usually here on the weekends, late mornings. It's a good place to get breakfast and listen to live music. Plus, it's family-friendly. The space is large, and there's always been plenty of seating available. We park on the street and have never walked more than a block from our space. The restrooms have always been clean, and the staff is friendly.“

“I have been stopping at this bar on the weekend for the past six years when I come to Kulpmont to visit my parents. The menu has not changed, and the food is great. I have had a cheesesteak and wings cooked by Joe the owner, and burgers from Nancy. She has been there since I started coming in and has been nice, and funny. We got to know each other on a personal level from years of repeatedly stopping in. I have been in on a Sunday night and the younger blonde girl was bartending. She was very nice and had my next drink ready ASAP. That aside, the past few times I have stopped in were not as they use to be. I have been taking my parents to appointments and stopping at the bar in the middle of the week. The new bartender with white hair, I believe her name is Kelly, is not to my liking, and from talking to other customers sitting near me, they agree. She leaves the bar for moments at a time and people in the bar sit waiting for new drinks. I have waited over five minutes twice in one sitting. She complains a lot, and has been seen outside smoking while customers wait inside for drinks. She does not strike up much conversation with anyone at the bar. Not a welcoming feel from her. I will not be stopping in during the week anymore. I would give a higher star service rating if I had not encountered Kelly. The four star rating is thanks to the owner Joe. Back to my weekend stop ins only.“

“Definitely a great place to have a good time at the bartenders Caitlyn and Robie we're on point very friendly and courteous and attentive definitely will visit here again I just need to better understand the parking in the area as not to get in ticket again they had a DJ tonight some great music playing bar was fairly packed with customers and both bartenders were very good with getting to customers in a timely manner especially Caitlyn. Even though I did not get any food I heard the food here is pretty goodParking: The parking here was very difficult to understand where you can or cannot park I actually did receive a ticket for parking in the wrong spot I will have to do some reconnaissance the next time I go here because it's not very clear where you can park“

“Ok, this is my third visit here for dinner. I honestly love the c serving staff. The Bartenders and the hostesses really take good care of you. But each time I've gone and ordered anything other than a burger, it's been horrible. They need a better cooking staff. Burgers I've order have been really good. I don't know who is cooking when. Burgers were ordered during lunch time. But dinner time entrees that look good on the menu; so far have been simply horribly burned or very over cooked. I've order ribs the first time and chicken the second time I went for dinner.“

“It is what it is. It's Hess's. I've been going to this place whenever I was living back home since I've been old enough to drink. Bartenders are all great especially if you know them. My only complaint is that it's smokey. I'm not a smoker but whenever I'm there I end up lighting up just because I feel like I'm breathing it anyway so I might as well.“
