“We have been going to Nostrovia since they opened, and we make it a point to go at least 2-3 times a month. The beer list is changing out frequently and always has an option for everybody. Not a beer drinker, no worries because there are options for the non-beer drinkers as well. They always have a cider on tap, frozen drinks in the summer, a mule (compliments of luminary) and sometimes a seltzer is available too. The food is simple, but the taste is incredible! We have never been disappointed here. Not to mention the staff have always been extremely kind and gracious to their guests. Thank you to catering to those of us who come with kiddos with the “busy bee” kits and hot dog meals!! This is beyond appreciated from 2 parents who still want to come and enjoy the place with our 2 year old! Cannot recommend this quaint little brewery enough!“
“It’s everything you’d want your local neighborhood brewery to be.“
“Great beers and people. Wish they were closer.“

“This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service couldn't have been better--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. What makes it extra special is the atmosphere: it's set in a beautifully preserved old-fashioned train station, which gives the whole experience a charming and unique touch. A perfect place to enjoy a great meal in a setting full of history and character. Order battered fish and chips.“
“It was a very quick and easy drop for me here. But most of all the address is kinda confusing so truckers follow your GPS here but right before the low hanging bridge take a left on that little drive way and do not turn right. The docks are in the back and the check in is at the glass doors before you get to the end of the building. There is a white bell button kinda up high on the right. There's is sign showing we're to push. Good backing for the docks. Good luck guys!“
“Nice place recommend you stop in and try a few drafts!!“

“This was our first experience at John Russell's. Our server was Brooke who was absolutely amazing with our large soccer club from Ontario, Canada. Despite what is happening between our two countries one thing is for sure. We love Erie and will always support local restaurants and businesses in the area. Brooke was able to handle our soccer club with ease vs another restaurant close by. She was quick, efficient, friendly and above all else served us with a smile everytime.
Thank you Brooke and we will definitely come back shortly!!!
To the management, please acknowledge your great staff who accommodated us with ease and efficiency. Truly one of the best!!!“
“We were part of a large group from out of town (over 300) attending a dinner and a presentation. The location turned out to be excellent with lots of nearby parking. The hall is large enough to space tables out - providing a comfortable feeling. The food was excellent and was served in 4 buffet lines to get people through quickly. The presentation was shown on a huge screen so everyone could see clearly. It was a well organized and enjoyable session.“
“First off this place is neat. Being run inside an old train station is just something you don’t see and makes it so much “warmer” inside. We had some of the craft sodas which were good, and for food we had the fried pierogis, The Pittsburger and The Train Wreck. The pierogis were good, the burger was really good, but the Train Wreck was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I’d drive 500 miles to eat this sandwich again. The fries were really good and all off us were stuffed. If I ever come through Erie again this is the first place I’m stopping.“

“This is regarding the location inside Turfway Park Racing and Gaming in Florence Kentucky.. Husband and I wanted to come out and watch the band that was there this past Saturday night. Apparently they have a new table service 'rule' in effect. if I understand it correctly, in order to sit at a table and watch the band which doesn't start until 9:30 or later, you MUST order $50 worth of food and or drinks. After the 2 hours that you are there, if you want to stay longer, they will charge you an additional $50. Who are they to tell people how much they must spend on food and drinks? We stood outside of the railing actually in the casino and watched the band for the 1st set.. We saw a couple sitting at a small round table in front of us only order two alcoholic beverages the whole time they were there.. so you are telling me that you expect two people to sit at your table and if they are not ordering food, you expect them to spend $50 on alcohol in order to sit at the table? Unless I am misunderstanding,,, needless to say, we will never ever step foot inside of this restaurant to eat or drink.“

“I thought I reviewed this place a few years back when I first visited, but I guess not- so here we go. Lavery is quality run brewpub, with some really tasty beers on tap that span the gap between many different styles and flavors. On my most recent trip with my wife, I got a six beer flight to sample, and was impressed by all the chosen offerings, especially the coconut-laden Divine Intervention and the uniquely refreshing lime and cucumber and sea salt sour.
The place itself is kind of on the darker side and is accented with a lot of wood and wood tones, which is just the rathskeller type of vibe that you want from a classic brewpub experience. There is also a nice patio area if you prefer a lighter experience during nice weather. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the food (which we tried on the last outing there) is tasty and compliments the drinks well. Overall, it's definitely a worthwhile stop if in the Erie area and looking for a nice beer in an enjoyable atmosphere.“
