Food & drinks: The French onion soup was outstanding! I had the crabcakes which were sweet, lump, without a hint of a shell in them. My husband got the steak and said it was the best meal he has ever had! The salads that were included with the meal, were so fresh and tasty.

The Dobbin Houe Tavern fine dining restaurant is a romantic and delicious walk back through time. The history of the house is amazing as it was the first stop of the underground railroad north of the Mason Dixon line. If you go halfway up the stairs to the right of the hostess, you can see where the hidden loft is. The house has been maintained as in the 1800s. This, coupled with period furniture and dishes, helps to complete the feeling you have traveled back in time. They have a full bar and wine list. I ordered a Manhattan cocktail, which was perfectly made.Their menu is high-end American and fairly priced. They brought out a complimentary basket of assorted homemade breads with whipped butter, which I found amazingly addictive. My dinner started with a fresh crisp salad, which was refreshing. I ordered the NY strip as the main entree, which was perfectly cooked and insanely delicious. The service was warm, friendly, and wonderfully attentive. If you're gluten-free, this restaurant has you covered.Pro Tip: Try the house dressing on your salad.

Our group of 10 dined at Dobbin House on April 26th. The experience would've earned 5 stars, however, our waitress made a few comments that didn't need to be made. As she went down the table, taking food and drinks orders, she looked at the woman who made the reservation and remarked " You should've eaten in the tavern area" and then proceeded to explain the bread baskets were only complimentary with entree orders. We had several people order entrees and many others who ordered multiple appetizers as their entree. We had no issue being charged for the bread baskets but could've done without the side of attitude they were served with. The food and drinks were incredible, especially the crab and avocado appetizer.

The French onion soup and breads are great. Love the full meal you get. Not taking off star, but steak was a tad dry.
