Very unique and fun place to visit if you’re a foodie, tourist, or even if you’re not! Obviously, there are lots of regulars to be in business for 100 years!
The hot dogs are different, not the usual at all. Sliced in half and grilled with a good “char” and the snap that a lot of people like. They’re very meaty and reminded me a bit of polish sausage. Not a whole lot of flavor to them, but they weren’t bland either. Love how finely diced the onions are, and there is no skimping! Then there is the RELISH! I didn’t order it at first, then saw the sign that said it is homemade, so I asked for a little sample, and oh my gosh, is it GOOD! Best relish I’ve ever had!
Service was friendly and the server was very knowledgeable about their history and such. The place is very clean too, though the bathrooms could use a little spiffing up.
Street parking was easily available within close walking distance.
Overall, a great stop!
P.S. It was only $18 and change for two dogs, an order of fries, and two drinks!

I have visited this place numerous times over the years. But the food just keeps getting worse. I don’t understand. The chicken tenders have always been golden and delicious. They came out like dark bark on a tree. And this was after the second round. The waitress told me it was because of the oil they are using. When I went to pay that waitress told me the crew fights with management about not being able to serve them to their customers. We waited at least 5 minutes just for someone to come to the table once we found a spot. There were two other tables besides us in the whole joint and one had already finished eating. There was no sense of urgency and lack of attention on their quality is definitely noticeable. I want to defend them so bad but I just can’t. This is probably the last time my son and I will be going and it’s incredibly sad. - A former loyal supporter
Food was super mid, I’m genuinely surprised so many people think the food is good, the milkshakes are the only worthwhile things there. I kid you not I walked into a cloud of flies, like an ungodly amount of flies. It also looks kind of dirty in there. Staff wasn’t rude but wasn’t nice either so idk.

A very historic building, a lot of history on the Walls, Great service, excellent service, place is clean. Hot dogs have a snap to them, very different than anything else I've experienced, that particular style of hot dog I don't care for it, Root beer float is amazing! Fries some of the best fries I have ever had. I have been here a few times. I will most likely return. What a great place.

Came from MD to eat a famous hot wiener. Super quaint diner, family photos on the walls, high schoolers behind the till, my aunt minus the cigarette taking my order.
Atmosphere is diner. I might be in 1956, maybe 1978. My famous cheese wiener tasted like Pennsylvania. Delicious Americana. But it wasn’t hot. It was warm.
Banana shake was laffy taffy, Runts flavored soft serve goodness.

I have been going to the Famous for decades. Always ordered the Hot Dog w/ everything. I recently stopped in abd git my usual 2 dogs with everything and a Strawberry shake. I hatecto say this but the Hot Dogs were horrible. They were dry with a weird texture. I've spoken to several other frequent loyal customers and they said the same thing. I'm not sure if you changed your distributor, but I don't think I can go back. maybe for a cheeseburger with everything. I hope you check into this.
Been eating here since I was a kid and there isn't any place exactly like it!

I love this place. Over 100 years of great food.
This is a peak Americana diner experience!
We dined at this establishment on March 25, 2025, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was incredibly disappointing. There were five waitresses sitting at the counter, seemingly more interested in their phones than attending to customers. After our order was taken, our food was delivered incorrectly. The rolls were stale, the gravy had an unappetizing consistency resembling brown wallpaper paste, and the hot dogs were served cold. To top it off, we received only one glass of water with our meal, and we never saw our waitress again after that. At one point, our waitress spilled gravy next to our table, looked down, and simply walked away, leaving the mess on the floor. Overall, this was hands down one of the worst meals I've ever experienced. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
