So long story short ordered food. Got the wrong food. told the server then nothing. didn’t touch the French toast and never got the pancakes but strangely enough they made me pay for pancakes I didn’t receive and French toast I didn’t want I had worked in the restraint biz for over 15 years and the service and experience this day has made me question this diner. remarks like oh we would of given the food to someone else. which is illegal by the way, makes me even more concerned

While traveling through Harrisburg found this diner. Grew up in the northeast enjoying diners but moved to southeast many years ago so when visiting family in NJ/PA am always on lookout for a diners. This one has the look and feel of an authentic diner. It's big and it's shiny. The waitstaff was just a bit surly. The food (breakfast) was served hot and fast. Corned beef hash was tasty. Scrambled eggs were overcooked but edible. Home fries were the standout. Real potatoes, sliced thin and grilled on a flat top. Very nicely done. Coffee was hot and kept topped off. Would return to this diner, if in the area again. It appeared as though most of the customers were locals who were known to the staff. Had a homey feel to the place.

Waitress, food, service was very good. Managers need training or get new ones. She approached us and said, you have been here long enough, it’s time to leave. There is a bus pulling in. There were open tables and no line. We finished our meeting outside and no bus pulled in. Did not mind her telling us that but how she said it. I am out of town traveling through, but this is off my list if I come through again.

Visited this restaurant about 11 am on a Thursday. Woman who seated us acted like we were an inconvenience to her busy day. Two of us ordered clam chowder and it ended up being potato soup. Waitress said it was creamy so she thought it was the chowder. Offered to get us the chowder but by that time we didn’t want more soup. (Shouldn’t she have known which one was chowder??). Cole slaw was supposed to come with our sandwiches. Finally asked and she gave one of us cole slaw. I ordered a Pepsi with my food. Never got it but was on the bill. Pointed this out and she took it off the bill as we were leaving brought me a coke. Didn’t tell me that a croissant was an up charge. One of our party ordered meat loaf and it looked and tasted awful. Like it had been fried in a pan and was dry. Waitress was happy go lucky and polite but did a poor job. Won’t be back.

Decent place to grab a bite while touring the Capitol. Several small grill areas & some packages foods. Also a salad bar & coffee station.

My husband considers himself an onion soup expert since his version is frequently requested by family members. He has tasted onion soup in many restaurants in many states but this is the FIRST time I have ever caught him sipping the last of the broth with his straw! We both devoured our thick reuben sandwiches. If in the area again we would return for the same meal. There was nothing outstanding about the service.

We came here because it was close to our hotel and was highly recommended by people living in the area. We had liver and onions, which the men said was fantastic. We had a fried shrimp basket that had so much shrimp that couldn’t finish it. The salads were fresh and tasty and the meal came with rice pudding. We liked it so much that we came back a second night. We shared the hot turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes. It was a huge amount of food, but delicious. This time we had the tapioca pudding, which was delicious. The prices are reasonable, the service and food are excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have liked this place for several years when traveling through the area, however, my most recent experiences here and at the sister diner have not been what I would write home to Mom about. I chalk these two experiences up to "what have you learned, Dorothy?" What I have learned is that despite a server telling me the gravy is homemade, it is not. I suspect it is made from the good old institutional level dehydrated stock from a jar. turkey gravy in the wild isn't that yellow. Mashed potatoes also not homemade. Also, this time, I ordered the turkey dinner vs the open face sandwich (had tried the roast beef one at the other place and thought maybe turkey would be better). Stuffing was absolutely tasteless and the turkey appeared to merely be what you would get from a deli. Salad was all iceberg lettuce, and some past its prime at that. So what WAS good this time? The pickled beets! The server keeping my water glass filled. The speed of service. The big question - will I return? A resounding YES! Because when I have been here before, the soup was fantastic, the burger was top rate and the Reuben excellent. There are so many other things on the menu I coulda shoulda woulda chosen and will do that in the future.

Wonderful breakfast stop. There was plenty of parking and they are located very convenient to the highway. The service was quick and the staff was helpful and friendly. The portions are large and stratifying, with great coffee. We stopped in twice while we were staying in the area.

Haven't been here for several years. Went for breakfast and it was great! Excellent Blueberry Short Stack loaded with fresh Blueberries. Coffee the way I love it. Not weak. Best part was the nostalgic atmosphere and service. Brittany, our server, was outstanding. Will go back more often.

Food was fine. Problem is the nasty “fancy catsup” !!! Come on owners!! Nobody wants your bargain “catsup”!! Get some Heinz!!!!!! Owner tells me “catsup is catsup”! I say, when ignorance screams, intelligence moves on……

Friendly staff with good service. The menue is varied with lots of good choices as well as specials. When you think of diner food, this is it. Soups, sandwiches, meatloaf, pot roast, liver, shepherds pie and much more. Hubby enjoyed his shepard's pie, as well as what I couldn't finish of my pot pie. One comment; While I found the pot pie good, it wasn't what I was expecting. Instead of flaky crust and yummy gravy it was more of a stew with flat dumplings. Actually not surprising being so close to Pennsylvania Dutch country. And unfortunately we had no room for the wide variety of pies and cakes that looked so delicious. We've eaten here before and will return again as we come to this area annually.

Large variety of food offered. Large portions delivered to the tables. Yankee pot roast tempted my husband. He had to take some back to the hotel but he was totally satisfied.. I had a tuna wrap that could have fed two and onion rings that were as they always should be hot ,crisp and greasy. I took half back to the hotel as well. We also were tempted to buy bakva and chocolate mousse cake " for later:" ( My husband enjoyed his baklava in two sessions and my cake was consumed in three different delightful session.) We circled back to the Diner for a late lunch the next day. My husband was very happy with a roast turkey sandwich and a glass of white wine. I had a substantial BLT. Both times a personable and attentive waitress was checking on us, making certain we had all we wanted or needed.
