I got some of their fresh roasted beans to brew in my at home espresso setup and I can't recommend them enough!!
Didn't even make it in the door with out nearly injuring myself. I was walking down the street thinking about getting a hot drink when I hit some black ice right in front of this place. I almost fell and could have been seriously injured as I was not expecting a sheet of ice. Numerous other portions of the sidewalk were safe and passable but not in front of this place no salt just ice. So I decided if a business cares so little for the safety of its customers and employees they have to walk the same sidewalk. Then I do not care enough to give this establishment any business.

The coffee was super overpriced and was very bitter. It tasted like pure acid.

After more than ten years of supporting this place, I'm done. I've been buying coffee at Elementary since it opened and yet every time I come in I'm glared at. I rarely ever get the sense I'm at all welcome.
Yesterday was the final straw. I got an email stating my 5lbs of ground coffee were ready for pick up. I was told previously to "just grab it off the shelf" if I see my order.
While I was doing so, I was snapped at for potentially violating other customer's privacy.
I understand the reasoning behind keeping personal information for at risk people private. That's fine. What isn't fine is that I've been coming for ten years and I still get treated like an unwelcome invader.

I would not buy their beans again. I found them to be very finicky to give a good brew. Tried a lot of different methods, grinds, and ratios to no avail.
My go-to local coffee when I’m out. The employees are kind and helpful and the atmosphere of the shop itself is very warm and welcoming.

My cold brew was delicious and the vibes inside were just what I was looking for. Pop in if you’re nearby.

Elementary is hands down my favorite place to get coffee in Harrisburg. They have the best and most unique selection of signature lattes. You HAVE to try the iced Primer. My absolute go to. Their selection of baked goods always rotates and everything I’ve ever tried has always been delicious. When friends visit from out of town, this is the place I bring them to and no one has ever been disappointed except maybe for the fact that Elementary isn’t local to them. Phenomenal!

There are very few places to eat near the State Capitol, and none at all if you have your pup with you. So, we’ve been very happy when they let us inside the Elementary Coffee shop on 1233 N 3rd St Broad Street, Harrisburg, with our dog. Especially considering that it was about 83F outside. We happily placed orders tipping 20%, found a nice table near the window, and got some water for our dog. Coffee and snacks arrived. Then, as if this was already too much, a woman, one of the employees, approached us and politely asked to leave the shop and eat outside: apparently, pet-friendly arrangements are considered by the staff on the individual basis. Well, at least their quiches weren’t bad, coffee was pretty strong and tea… it was just a tea.
My favorite place to go for an iced brown sugar oat milk latte! Staff is always friendly and kind. I always stop in to Elementary Coffee when I am in the Harrisburg area. Highly recommend!

I've been to so many coffee shops that claim to be inclusive or homey, and this is one of the few that actually lives up to expectations!! The bariastas are so kind and weren't angry that I didn't know the menu, being very helpful when selecting a drink. The dining area is cozy and a great spot for a chat with friends, reading a book, or just enjoying your wonderful beverage. I got a seasonal drink and my partner got the dreamer, and both tasted so amazing that we wanted to get another right away! Wonderful coffee shop, hope to come back here again!
