My names Izzy and IM HERE TO TELL YOU GUYS…EAT AT THIS PLACE. You will not regret it! My Girlfriend and I come to Harrisburg every other week for work, we ABSOLUTELY love this resturant we always get the Steak Teriyaki and the Chicken Teriyaki, it is IMMACULATE. The staff is SO friendly, and care so much about their customers and make a fun environment. They always make an effort to remember their regulars names and will give free little treats sometimes to say thank you! This is our go to spot, and it is FANTASTIC, if I could give it 12 stars I would! DELICIOUS!
This place is weird!
We sat for hibachi and instantly regretted it. I dare you to touch under your tables. Nothing was cleaned properly. Nothing actually tasted like Japanese food. My daughter has loved hibachi and often asks for it. When given the salad. It was just covered in creamed ginger and my daughter thought it was applesauce. She wouldn't have been wrong if I didnt know any better. That's not ginger dressing. They do not offer noodles. The pricing was insane. The chicken was so bad and chewy none of us wanted to touch it. Nothing about this chicken was sesame or Asian. In any way.
Instead of flinging shrimp or a vegetable for you to catch as part of a normal show. He flung cold globs of uncooked rice at us. Yummy. I dont think this chef had ever cooked Japanese food or food at all. The show was awful and he had no idea what he was doing. We couldn't understand him he couldn't nail normal moves like spinning utensils. I was terrified as he was trying to light a onion volcano instead set the whole face of the grill on fire.
I'm so confused.
If you think I'm over exaggerating... please take a quick trip around the building and look at how they keep the back door by the kitchen. Its absolutely disgusting. I cant imagine what is only feet inside the door.
This place has wonderful food and has a great choice of Indian and Japanese food. The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing! I highly suggest this restaurant to everyone!
We love coming to Shangrila whenever we come out to Harrisburg! The food is always amazing and the staff is very welcoming and pleasant! We’ve never had a bad experience and we’ll continue to eat here. Thank you for a great experience every time.
Everything was amazing! Our chef Jackie was awesome!! Granddaughter first time at hibachi she loved it and giggled!! Food was beyond great! Will be back for sure!
This was an awesome experience at the Hibachi bar. We came from Lancaster and I will gladly make the trip again. Yum yum.
My husband and I stayed at the nearby Ramada Hotel and tried Shangri-La for the first time, and I was very impressed both with the food and service. Our waitress was Felicia who' was friendly and welcoming, and accommodated our special requests with a smile. I adore sushi and ordered the house special roll subbing out tuna for salmon, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that their sushi was extremely fresh and delicious! Thanks Felicia and Shangri-La for a lovely evening!
The food offers a diverse selection, including hibachi, sushi, Indian, Bhutanese, and Nepali cuisine. The bar is very well stocked, and the service was excellent—they did not disappoint.
Clean & friendly peoples
I cannot say enough good things about this place! The hospitality they have here is beyond amazing! There gave me the most epic and memorable birthday anyone could ask for! Beautiful place for good and relaxing bar upstairs
Restrooms are dirty & the food doesn't taste good at all. Bad experience
I wish I could give 0 stars to this place. Ordering from here was a huge mistake. I thought they served authentic food, so I ordered a veg thali and thukpa — what a blunder. First, they didn’t include bread with the thali even though it’s clearly mentioned in their menu. When I asked about it, they casually said they don’t give bread with thali. Seriously? As for the thukpa, it was so overloaded with red chili that it was inedible — we had to throw it away. I actually had to apologize to my wife for ruining her dinner by ordering from this pathetic place. Never again.

We came to Shangri La for lunch while visiting Harrisburg, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! As soon as we walked in, the chef was preparing a fresh fish for the display cooler—my son was fascinated watching him skillfully skin it.
We had a group of 7 ordering food to go, and the staff welcomed us to sit at a booth and enjoy drinks while we waited. The waitress was so kind and attentive—she made sure our curry was packaged securely so it wouldn’t spill during the ride back to our hotel.
Everything was made fresh, and the only wait time was for the food to be cooked—which was more than worth it. My steak was cooked perfectly, the rice was just right, and even my picky-eater child cleaned their plate!
This place is definitely on our must-visit list for next time we’re in town. We might pick a different hotel, but we already know where we’re eating. 5 stars, hands down!
Overall I don’t think it’s a bad to say that but I’ve ordered multiple food items. Among them Steam momo was not good enough. Not cooked well. We didn’t try hibachi, hope that we will trying it next time. 🤩
