I finally decided to try this place out today after hearing good things about it. I wanted to come over the summer for a couple of the concerts, but the ones I wanted to go to were canceled due to inclement weather. Anyway, despite the parking lot looking full, there was no wait for a Sunday dinner. Service was kind of slow, but friendly.
The garlic cheese bites were delicious, basically deep fried cheese curds. My husband and I both got wings, which were a nice size and perfectly cooked. The canal sauce was awesome, but the Italian sauce could have been a little thicker. The prices are very reasonable for the portions and we'll definitely be back again.

September 24, 2025. Most horrible meal I ever had. The baked haddock, which was the special for the day was no bigger than a lightbulb. It was so dried out it didn’t have any taste. It came with a choice of two sides and a roll and butter. I chose, macaroni and cheese and stewed tomatoes. The cheese macaroni was so watered down the sauce was running all over the plate. Did not get a roll and butter, which was supposed to be part of the meal. Don’t understand why it was the special of the day and was so bad. There was nobody else in the restaurant at 3:30 in the afternoon. Hard to swallow when you pay $15 for a chunk of fish, no bigger than a lightbulb and so dried out and tasteless.
My advice, ask To see how much you’re paying $15 for a piece of dried out tasteless fish before you order.

Was looking to drink before 9. This place is open and serving breakfast (including the liquid part). Walked right in and sat at the bar. I should have waited to be seated but I have a bad habit of being drawn to taps. Despite no one being in the bar area when I got here a server showed up quickly and got me a beer with no early morning foam issues. Service has been quick and the staff is pleasant, even the side conservations are good humored and mindful of guests. I got the SOS on toast. Not the best version of the dish. But I will admit I’m used to a VA/NC version with butter and pepper in the gravy and salty chipped beef. That said I finished it in record time all the same. Will be back to experience the live shows in the lower level and check out the lunch menu. They also have clean looking outdoor seating! It seems they may open at 8! So I’m plan to start my day even earlier next! (I can stop at any time..)

Went to Old Canal for dinner. Ordered wings and the wife ordered a turkey bacon club. Wings were very good. Wifes club was awful. Toast was cold, bacon must have been left over from their breakast service. It was cold and hard. Wife couldnt even bite into it. Lettuce was from their salad, all shredded, tomatoe was mushy. It was a total mess. It wasnt cut like any club sandwich weve ever had. Only cut in half. It was hard for her to handle. When the waitress asked how everything was, we told her and showed her the hard bacon which the wife removed from the club sandwich. She offered us another club sandwich, wife refused as she ate half after removing the hard bacon, shredded lettuce and tomato. Paying $12 for the club we dont like wasting food. The server ended up deducting $5 from our bill. She was an excellent server. Probably wont go back. 2nd time we got bad meal there but the wings and service was good.

Our waitress was the best. She was friendly and funny. We had a large party and she took care of us well! Everyone there treated us nicely.
I had the Turkey and Waffles. It was sooo soo good! It's a must try. My husband had the Holidaysburger with sweet potato fries. It was tasty 😋

I was disappointed with our whole experience here. Food was not the greatest. my daughter’s cup was greasy and dirty she also had food floating in her soda. I don’t like to leave a bad review but hopefully my honest review will encourage change.
