Delicious gelato! My family enjoyed it when we went for Father's day it was a huge hit!!
Location at first was a little challenging to find. Service was great and the gelato was delicious. Some customers thought it was a little pricey but, it is made fresh every day with natural ingredients. A small was $6 but, would highly recommend!
Showed up at 5:20 on Monday 6/2 and the door was locked. Hours posted on google show that it should be open. Checked Facebook as well and no note of it being closed.
Be careful if you’re making a trip to get Gelato, as they might not be open. We made a trip specifically for gelato and were disappointed to find it closed.
So good
So good!! Makes it all from scratch
5 stars! Came to Hummelstown specifically to try Gelato Di Babbo and it was worth the trip! This place is a gem.
A very Friendly staff member allowed me to sample as many flavors as I wanted before making a selection. The pistachio flavor was absolutely delicious, sweet and buttery. I didnt make it very far out of the door with it when I saw an opportunity to chat up the owner. She was planting some flowers in boxes and charming the entrance to the shop. What I got from her is that she’s passionate about her gelato, she wants to stay in the community of Hummlestown and ultimately she offers a specialty that she has always focused on and has set her self apart from other vendors that way. I would have to agree that its the best local gelato. Be sure to stop by.
The gelato is absolutely one of a kind. Had the privilege of ordering the Cremino for Easter. It.Was.Delicious. My other favorites are the Coconut and the Caramel Sea Salt. Sincerely highly recommend to try all flavors. Will return over and over. Keep up the fantastic labor of love Kim!!!! Best Gelato Anywhere!
Best gelato you’ll ever eat in the states
I wish I could recommend this dessert.. but I can not and would not even if I was paid to. Kimberly left a very public comment fat shaming a woman who was eating a dessert right here on Facebook. How can you consciously fat shame someone when you supposedly create desserts yourself? What disgusting behavior. As a business owner, you should probably have known better than to do such a thing to anyone let alone a stranger over the same type of cuisine you create and market.

I visited Gelato Di Babbo after reading about it in Sunday Inquirer. I was surprised to find a tiny store in rural PA that had delicious, flavorful gelato similar to what I enjoyed in Italy. The owner makes everything from its basic ingredients and serves fresh gelato with several flavors. Prices are reasonable and service is helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend supporting this old fashioned business that caters to its customers.

Found out about this place when it featured in the local news recently. The owner won a Gelato competition in Italy. She won over many Italian chefs!! That reason was strong enough for me to go to the store to try some famous gelato. It truly was delicious. There is outdoor seating which helps if the weather is good. Owner was in the store. Very nice lady, she shared her experience in the competition.

Fantastic gelato. As good or better than what I've had in Italy. Bonus points for simplicity and traditional flavors with reasonable portion sizes.
As an ethical vegan who has never been able to indulge in gelato before tonight, I was delighted to find that they offered not 1 but 3 plant-based gelato flavors! I drove an hour and a half round trip, and I certainly was not disappointed. The salted caramel vegan gelato was completely worth the long drive! I did not know that it was possible for something to taste so good, and this coming from someone who does not have a sweet tooth! My only regret was that it took me so long to try this decadent, animal-free/cruelty-free/vegan gelato! If you also try your best to live a compassionate lifestyle, you must drop everything and get yourself down to Gelato di Babbo in Hummelstown. Run, don't walk! ?
I stopped in to purchase some home made Gelato. I tried the vegan made hazelnut raspberry sauce vegan chocolate with coffee beans and I would have never ordered vegan gelato but this was outstanding. I also purchased the pistachio gelato and the hazelnut described above. It was a pleasure meeting you and wish you the best with your competition in Italy in a couple of weeks.
