The Phoenix Tavern offers a clean and welcoming atmosphere with affordable prices for delicious food. This cozy, friendly tavern is located near the visitor center, making it a perfect spot to feel right at home. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, ensuring every visit is enjoyable. The establishment has undergone renovations, preserving vintage touches like original ashtrays in the bathrooms. Gluten-free options are available, including a standout ginger bread cake. The restaurant is also accommodating for guests with celiac disease, taking care to avoid cross-contamination without adding extra cost. Guests highly recommend trying the chicken balls served on Saturdays and Mondays, which are giant deep-fried chicken meatballs on a bed of mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Additionally, the homemade daily desserts receive praise. Though the atmosphere is inviting, there may be a wait for the check during busy times.
