The old location was much nicer, especially being able to sit out on the deck. We miss the atmosphere and service of the old 1906. Candidly we thought the menu, food and prices were significantly superior as well in the old location. We’ll just go to one of the pther good restaurants in the area after we hit the gardens in the future….significantly over rated and priced….

Rare to find a restaurant of this caliber inside a tourist specific venue. Cordial and knowledge service, good menu, excellent plating and flavors, enjoyable bar and lounge area - all with a beautiful view of the grarden fountain area!

We had lunch at the 1906 while visiting the gardens. First of all the gardens are spectacular! Lunch was spectacular! It was a little pricy but considering the quality and innovative menu options well worth it! Our server was just wonderful! Overall a great experience!

If the flowers don’t win you over 1906 surely will. The food, the presentation and most importantly, the service were outstanding. Our server was so knowledgeable and so engaging. Yes it goes without saying it is a splurge, but well worth it! Just made the day spent w friends even more magical

The last time I was here I was in my teens, now I was able to bring my daughter to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the gardens. The only thing I remember from when I was a kid was the eye of the water. I found it and I was able to share this memory with my daughter. Great time and memories.

Just celebrated my birthday with lunch at 1906. Everyone was incredibly friendly and gracious, especially our server. The food was some of the best I have ever had in my life. I ordered the bluefin tuna, the heirloom tomatoes, and the peach gelato, as well as a cappuccino. Absolutely no complaints about anything. Even the seating was comfortable. We were able to watch the water show from our table. Also, contrary to what other reviews say, they absolutely do have a kids menu, including special desserts for kids. My picky eater was very happy with his cheeseburger and chocolate dirt cup. It's not cheap, but the prices seem fair for the quality of the food, the excellent atmosphere and attentive service. I will definitely be back.

We sat at a table in the lounge area waiting for the Gregory Porter show to start. That didn’t happen due to storms, but we had a terrific evening overall anyway. The view of the storms from the lounge area were fabulous. Our waiter, DJ was friendly and entertaining and full of local lore. In fact, he was a big reason we came back the next day! We specifically requested him to be our server. He didn’t rush us and let us space out our visit to the last minute to when they canceled the show. His suggestions for the menu were spot on. he did not disappoint us either day.

And the view of the gardens from the lounge area on the next day (8/14) was just as impressive as the views of the storm.

Stunning view, you can watch the fountain show from the restaurant. Outstanding service and good food. Our waitress went above and beyond. Lots of fresh mushrooms and locally sourced edible flowers. You’re literally dining in the garden! I can’t think of one bad thing about this place. LOVED IT! You do need to have tickets or memberships of the garden to dine here.

Doesn’t get much better than this! Atmosphere, service and food were all outstanding. I was there for lunch with friends. The Mushroom Pate is a little bit of magical! So creamy and delicious, you must try it. Everyone’s dish was fantastic, which combined with the presentation, made it a place I will rave about and return to. KUDOS!!

A wonderful experience of fine dining that you must reserve due to their popular reputation to please. We always look forward to dining there for our anniversary or birthday celebration. A success to impress is the standard there.

The absolute best! Came here on a whim since I was at Longwood and hadn't been to this restaurant since it moved from the café building. Sat at the bar and had one of the best experiences at a bar that I've had in a while. The drinks we're well made, the food was gourmet without being pretentious, and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this place even if you aren't a Longwood member. You won't be disappointed.

Finally ate at the restaurant section. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The people at the reception were helpful, the server was very attentive and were very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the following for dinner:
Pull-Apart Brioche - Really tasty and great presentation. It probably could have used more butter, but I like a ton of butter on my bread.
Heirloom Tomatoes salad - Stupidly addictive. The tomatoes were fresh, the mint and strawberries were a good pairing with the tomatoes and the sheep's milk gelato was one of the best bites I've had ever. GET THIS WHEN YOU GO!
Spaghetti Alla Chitarra - Crab + saffron + basil + pasta = yum. I'm not usually a crab person, but coming from Maryland and having crabs all my life give me a little expertise. This was simply delicious. I thought the basil and saffron would have worked against each other, but they seemed to work really well in this dish. If I could have eaten the plate, I would have.
Summer Peaches - Peaches, peach gelato, mascarpone, and financier. I usually would have gone with the Caramelia but this was something I hadn't tried before and wanted to experience it. It tasted amazing.
Overall, this place is a hidden gem and a place I wish I had know about as soon as it opened. I know you have to pay to get into the gardens in order to get to this place, but IMHO it's worth it. Better yet, get an annual pass and you can come here as often as you want and get a 10% discount.
