Met a group of friends here, and all raved about how good the food was! Coffee was also excellent and the barista tweaked it just to my liking. My only complaint—the digital menu’s font is tiny! Better to read the menu online on your phone.Parking: I always park at the Kennett square garage. Easy to access downtown, clean, and safe.

Best Greek cafe! We are vegetarian and they were more than accommodating to make sure that we get the best experience. We ordered the Hummus platter, Tomato soup (yummy), bagel - cream cheese and a yogurt parfait. Many more options to try. We will be back P.S. Tomato soup with pita bread was DELICIOUS!!!

Cafe Emis not only has consistently fabulous food but the owners and everyone who works there is stellar. They are like a family, are all incredibly friendly and bend over backwards to provide a stellar experience. I went to college in Boston and hung out at what became the premise of the television show "Cheers" and that is the feeling of Cafe Emis each and every time you walk in. There is so much to offer any patron from vegan options, breakfast, lunch, dinner, a loyalty program and desserts to die for...and don't forget the drinks both hot and cold. They are always adding new items to menu. Many items are imported straight from Greece including pita and the most amazing Greek yogurt like non other. It is sheep and goat milk and has all the probiotics you need for happy gut health. I've never, ever had a bad meal there and anyone who says they.have doesn't know stellar Greek food! Cafe Emis is a gem in the center of Kennett Square and the food is out of this world!

The restaurant is a quaint cafe hidden between a few shops. It has amazing food that really surprised me on how well the quality was. Their dine in options have booths, tables, or window seating and their takeout offered prepared foods such as spanikopita and small cakes. They offer a complete menu and waiting services. I recommend the souvlaki platter with cucumbers on the side to dip into the tzatziki that comes with the platter. My only small complaint is the choice of modern american pop music instead of Greek music to match the atmosphere. Other than that, the place is perfect for small dates or a pit stop while walking around town, or even settling down for a full dinner.

In the quaint, mushroom capital of the world, Kennett Square, a place whispers the tales of distant lands through its flavors and scents. Café Emís, a modest yet soulful Greek café, serves a flair of Greek offerings, crafted coffee drinks, and made to order juices.Upon entering, the café’s ambiance immediately envelops you—a warm, inviting space that feels like a Mediterranean embrace on a brisk Pennsylvanian day. The air is thick with the aroma of olive oil, oregano, and the comforting scent of freshly ground Greek coffee being run through their espresso machines. The vegetarian options are not mere afterthoughts but rather a proud testament to the versatility and richness of Greek cuisine. The Spanakopita, a flaky, buttery phyllo pastry filled with a hearty blend of spinach and feta, is a revelation. Each bite is a narrative of texture and flavor—crisp on the outside, tender and rich on the inside. It’s a dish that could easily turn the most ardent meat lover into a devotee of the plant-based cause, if only for a meal. (A vegan option is also on the menu made with tofu). Then there’s the Gigantes (Classic Greek giant beans), a dish that humbly showcases the giant beans’ ability to absorb flavors like a love letter to the soil that bore them. Bathed in a savory tomato sauce, with hints of garlic, and a melody of herbs, this dish is a comforting embrace. It’s rustic, it’s hearty, and it stands as proof that simplicity often leads to the most profound flavors. But the true star, the dish that captures the essence of Café Emís's vegetarian features, is the Moussaka! Here, Café Emís presents a version that eschews the traditional ground meat for layers of eggplant, potatoes, and a rich béchamel sauce that’s as light as it is creamy. It’s a dish that dances on the palate, complex yet familiar, and deeply satisfying. In the end, Café Emís is more than just a Greek café nestled in the heart of Kennett Square. It’s a reminder that vegetarian cuisine can be as rich, as soulful, and as satisfying as any other. In a world that often celebrates the extravagant, there’s something profoundly beautiful in the simplicity and honesty of a meal prepared with care and respect for its ingredients. For vegetarians (vegans) and those who simply seek to explore the breadth of culinary experiences, Café Emís is a destination worthy of the journey.
