“As a wedding and event planner I'm always looking for a unique and beautiful venues. Durham Springs checked all my boxes and more! Owners, Dan and Ian, have taken this dated property and transformed it into my absolute go-to for events, especially weddings. The grounds are lovely with ponds, swaying grasses and rolling hills. I absolutely love the flexibility of the ballroom. Beautiful views, flexible lighting, high ceilings, tons of natural light, neutral floors, walls and chairs make decor a joy. You can create any vibe you want in this space with ease. Dan was lovely to work with and exceedingly patient in providing many changes in floorpan due to the never ending Covid issues. He was also genuinely excited for my bride and groom and took joy in seeing their vision come to light. Many other venues are quick to tell you all the things you cannot do. Dan made sure that our requests came to life, and then some! His creativity was much appreciated. The food was delicious and served in a lovely, imaginative manner. William, staff captain, kept the wait staff running efficiently throughout the evening and Melissa, Durham's on-site event coordinator was responsive throughout, taking special care of several specific needs that we had for the day. Needless to say, my bride and groom were thrilled with choosing Durham Springs for their VERY SPECIAL day!”

“Absolutely delicious and authentic Middle-Eastern food, and the best Kunafa I have had in years! If you're new to this cuisine, order the Amasi Maza for starters and some kebabs for your main course, you won't be disappointed. Prices are quite fair for such generous servings. We will be frequent customers!”

“Just stopped in on a quiet Monday night - the staff member who waited on us was attentive and friendly. The food is really good and quite affordable!! I ordered the spicy miso ramen and shared soy garlic chicken strips with my fiancée, who had a poke bowl with teriyaki grilled chicken. We both left satisfied and full! I hope this was just a slow night; they deserve a lot more business! Highly recommended!!😊”

“Stole my food soul! My dearest readers, greetings! As my culinary travels abroad come to a close, I ventured on a last-minute trip to picturesque Bucks County in Pennsylvania, where my dear friends took me to a hidden gem of a restaurant - Canal House Station. I must confess, it stole my heart and I shall be staying here for a while to discover more. Stay tuned for my upcoming post, where I shall entertain you with all the delightful details. There is an abundance of things to explore here.”

“We were visiting Myrtle Beach on our family vacation. Our daughter’s 5th birthday was during this time. I was in need of a birthday cake, more last minute. I reached out to Sweet Girlz Bakery and they were very accommodating! They not only could take my order but allowed me to pickup on a non business day for them. The cake was great! Beautiful decorated and tastes amazing. Our daughter absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend them and would love to use them again in the future!”

“I'm not entirely sure how to pronounce the name of this place, but I can tell you it's pretty good regardless. I came here with two of my OG chums this past Saturday for an early dinner (a little before 5 I think), on a deceptively nippy night. We made a very last-minute reservation (as in we were down the street walking over when we did it) but were easily able to secure seating. The restaurant was pretty bustling throughout our meal so if you have the ability to make a reservation more than two minutes beforehand, I would do it. This is a popular one right now.
I've driven by this building countless times but I think this is the first time I've been inside it (it's relatively new so it's possible I was in whatever business was here before years ago). It has a pleasant interior; kind of rustic but also some obvious homages to France on the walls, etc. - what else would you expect in a town literally called Frenchtown?
We split the brie en croute app, which I liked a lot. My only quibble is that I would have made the berry coulis denser to compete with the brie a bit better, but overall it was a refreshing way to start the meal. I didn't build up quite the appetite I was hoping for from metal detecting in the afternoon (which is one of the many negative consequences of a drought), so I went a little lighter than usual on the entree with the almond-crusted cod. It was tasty but presentation-wise? Eh. It's not really a fish you can "crust," if that makes sense, so the optics are a bit chaotic. It's more like a pile on your plate, which you can see in the attached photo. I did like the fact that the lemon sauce was on the subtle side - the citrus family is not one of my faves and it's often an accompaniment with seafood dishes, so I was pleased it wasn't the dominant flavor. Super flaky and loved the texture of the rice.
The service was excellent. Not only did we not have to wait particularly long for our items to arrive, but our waiter was very friendly and nice. I was accidentally under-dressed for the weather so I ordered a hot chamomile tea (very rare for me), and one of my chums also asked the waiter to pick a tea for her. I have a chum who used to work in the service industry who told me to never order hot tea from a restaurant because it's incredibly annoying for them to prep, but my argument would be that if it's on the menu, all bets are off. Regardless, I think in this day and age it's relatively easy to make - we watched the guy literally just use a hot water dispenser and put the tea bag in. Was definitely the right choice on this particular evening. Anyway. He was also knowledgeable about the menu and had specific opinions about certain dishes; one of my friends ordered the salmon entree and he immediately commented that it was his favorite.
We're always interested as born and bred creatures of the Kingdom of Hunterdon what the overall clientele in a restaurant looks like. In a tourist trap like Frenchtown, it's not unusual to go into an eatery that's full of out-of-towners squealing about the Delaware River or something. This was a very nice mix of both tourists and locals, which can definitely be a difficult balancing act. Given the bougie options on the menu, I thought this was priced competitively to allow for some of the nearby residents who might not be sporting boat shoes and polo shirts to wander in to sample the wares as well.
Wasn't blown away but overall this was very solid.”

“The specials they have are incredible. Staff is attentive and kind. Atmosphere is comfortable with large windows. Choices of surf and turf, pasta dishes, and even offer lunch specials during the week! If you get a chance to try their jacked up oysters (usually offered during special events only)-you need to try them! So delicious! Scallops with crabmeat (Nantucket special) were spectacular! Absolute perfection. Their creamed corn is something special and unique. One of my faves. My kids had the chicken fingers and fries - the fries are so good! (Yes..I snuck a few while my daughter was distracted). Do not want to miss out on this place!”

“I have gone past this general location for 20 years. I don't know how long jacks been here for but I have passed it a lot living around the area. I finally decided to stop and try it because I've always been interested in the hidden pizza location as I call it. I got two small pizzas one Hawaiian and the other meat lovers and also I got a cheese steak. I must say that the service was great and helped me out with being short
3$. I believe the prices are fairly priced. The cheese steak is definitely without a doubt the best cheese steak I have had in a long time. The pizzas were also good. Definitely a location I'd suggest checking out even if the atmosphere is plain. Don't let the plain atmosphere trick you into thinking the food here is not good because it's definitely does have good food. I'll definitely come back to try different pizzas and get more cheese steak.”
