Great place while visiting from out of town. Absolutely loved everything we got to eat. We arrived right up on opening time and were seated immediately. Very friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.

The atmosphere wins. The food is honestly just ok! I wanted to love the food more but I was just not blown away. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken tenders almost tasted like the ones you would buy frozen and throw in the oven. Wasn’t impressed. Now the alcoholic milkshake was seriously amazing. We all said the food was ok, but atmosphere was great. Service was good too. Menu also I just was not a fan of. We all wished they had a bit more variety ? I probably would def come back for a milk shake though.

Amazing Food! And I came to do the "To the Max Challenge" and it was superb! I ended up finishing it in 14min 44 seconds! If you're in the area please stop by! ?

A cool little spot right near Penn Square in Lancaster city. It’s got the old school diner feel with a flare. They have a menu that features brunch, lunch, cocktails and boujee milkshakes. For brunch, I got the Buford Van Stomm Sando. It was a breakfast sausage smash patty, cheese omelette, onion rings, bacon mayo and pickled jalapeños. The sandwich was loaded with flavor, and the mayo and jalapeños gave it an extra pop. Spicy, crunchy, salty and savory. All you need for when you’re nursing a hangover.

I went here with my husband and 2 sons (ages 10 and 14) and randomly stopped in. The food was awesome but the staff was even better. The lady that seated us challenged my son to a coloring contest and the way she spoke to him was so sweet. We actually felt like we were in Disneyland the way they treated him. Our waiter was a sweet guy and again the food was great, we had omelettes, smash burgers and each kid tried an Italian soda and really enjoyed them.

Overall, I have to say that the atmosphere is really what brought me back here a second time, but I don’t think it’ll be enough for a third. I do find the place to be a bit overpriced (my waffles were more on the dry side and I was charged an extra .50 cents for butter with my waffles without being told of the extra charge). I have also tried two different drinks from there and they were too strong to be enjoyable (however if you’re looking for a place that makes their drinks decently strong, Max’s is the place). Therefore, atmosphere is great and it’s a cute place for brunch with friends, but so far the food had been underwhelming for me.

Even though an hour wait, we put our name in. Spent that time at Central Market. We were alerted our table was ready before the hour was up. Michelle the hostess was a doll. So welcoming. Sean our waiter was on top of it all. Our group ordered Burnt tips-very tasty, Mac n cheese…our son said it was great. I got smash burger salad. Wouk’s highly recommend.

I found this place through Google maps. It was walking distance from our hotel and I honestly thought it was a Chinese restaurant. Instead it felt like I went back in time when the place kids would hang out at the soda shop. I didn't have reservations but we were able to dine at the bar. We were seated quickly and our order was taken right away. Loved the music, the atmosphere, the decor and the whole Max team. I especially loved my BBQ Burnt Ends. My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich and a beer. The portions we generous. The staff were friendly and made sure we were enjoying our experience. I would definitely recommend making reservations if you want a table. We however, quite enjoyed our meal at the bar.

We were looking for a place with both breakfast and lunch options in this area and came across Max's. The photos online looked really cool and the menu sounded good so we gave it a try. We lucked into a street parking spot right out front which was great. We went at about 11:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. There was a 30 minute wait for a table or counter space available right away. We chose to go with the counter.Their drink menu had a lot of good sounding options and we watched the bartenders make several drinks and they were not stingy with the alcohol. The mimosas were 3/4 champagne as opposed to other places where it's juice with a splash of champagne. My husband ordered the Burrito Jefe and I went with a single waffle and the Biscuits and Gravy. I'm so glad I decided to add the Biscuits and Gravy because those were by far the stand out. The waffle was good, but honestly it's pretty hard to mess up waffles. The Biscuits though were beyond. They were so buttery and somehow still had some crispy to them despite being covered by sausage gravy. The gravy was the perfect flavor and the sausage was cut into bigger chunks and not just crumbled throughout which was nice. The whole thing was topped with an egg, which I chose over easy, and green onion. It all went so well together and I would order it so many times! My husband really enjoyed the Burrito Jefe and said he would order that again as well. The restaurant itself is decorated very cute with neon signs. It's a mix between a traditional diner and a stylish hip restaurant. The staff were very friendly and we had a great visit.Another perk is that the restaurant is in very close proximity to the Lancaster Central Market which happened to be open the day we were there.

Super rad spot!Smash burger was awesome and the burnt ends were perfect.Adult milkshakes and burgers how can you go wrong.Recommend reservations but bar is first come first serve with plenty of room to have a meal.

This place was so cute! We ended up at this restaurant when our original option ended up being closed, but I am so grateful that we did end up here! The food was delicious, I got scrambled eggs with bacon and tots and it was so good. The bacon was crisp and fresh, and the eggs were so fluffy. And don't get me started on the milkshake. It was so delicious, I got the peanut butter cup one and it was so tasty. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, we accidentally made our reservation for later than we meant and they worked with us and got us seated in maybe 5-10 minutes. And the staff were super accommodating with changes to the meals. They basically let us add anything and asked us if we wanted any extras. It was so nice, especially since we didn't know what they had. I would absolutely come back here, and highly recommend it to anybody who wants a great brunch experience.

Had we remembered about this place we would have went here for breakfast, but after we had breakfast at another establishment we were walking down the street past Max's and decide to pop in for a drink. We had such a nice time there we sat at the counter and both ordered a beer and looked over the menu and definitely will be going back for a meal.

So here's my disappointment and the fact that I actually wanted to take my son and my boyfriend out to a nice place that looked fun entertaining and the food actually looked really good online now here's where my problem starts the first thing we do walk into the restaurant I said a table for three they told me if I had a reservation I actually said no and they told me that they only had the bar which is the counter I said that's fine we sat down they gave us our menu. The lack of food is ridiculous there's a lot of milkshakes a lot of snacks alcohol but main course not that much now the whole time we were there she never asked us if we wanted something else to drink to the point that my boyfriend had a flag her down to get another beer even flag her again to get my son a milkshake now this whole time the food was basic something that you can get at a diner on top of that I don't think it's worth $72 mind you I don't mind paying any amount of money if the food is good and at least you cater to the person that in front of you at least make sure that they need water they need another soda do they need another drink just make sure that your guests are good. The drinks were good the food was good the service was actually not the best it wasn't horrible but not the best and honestly for $72 I could've gone to Texas roadhouse or I could've gone a PF Chang but overall ok i won't come back for me the service is everything.

We had a wonderful experience at Max's! Our server Brittany helped us navigate the menu and shared the specials. Each person in our party had something different-the Bloody Mary Smash Burger, the ElJefe Burrito, a single Smash Burger , and the Steady Eddie. Everything was so good, and the service was awesome! We had reservations at the Fulton Theater and our server made sure we were done in plenty of time to get to the show.
