Drove by it for years, finally stopped. Friendly and patient staff, all three workers greeted and asked if we needed assistance. The variety of breads was phenomenal (they're happy to slice it, too!). Pastries weren't as plentiful in my recollection, but I am all about the bread, so....There is a Deli sandwich menu with all the usual cuts. Looks like lunch is a busy time for the staff. Will frequent more often when in the area.

Best bread and in my top 3 for best sandwich I've had in PA. Coconut pecan cookies are great, if they have them try one.

I ordered the steak rolls for a party, and they were absolutely delicious. They made our mini cheesesteaks a hit. I will be ordering from them again. It was super easy to place the order, you can order in advance.

Hearth Baker on North Broad Street, Lansdale, PA, knows from flour and water. Bread is their game, and they play it well. The shop space was smaller than expected. The left wall was full of wooden racks loaded with beautiful loaves of bread. They were large and extremely tempting. As I was there 30 minutes before closing, they didn't have a full panoply of their creations, but still enough to satisfy me. One of the women behind the counters attended to me, advising what was still available. She first mentioned a half load of sliced rye, which I immediately said, "yes," to. The aroma was strong and I knew I would love it toasted with butter and jam. She next suggested their dinner rolls, of which she bagged a dozen mixed grains, but only charged me for six. She knew what she wanted to sell while fresh, and which would have longer shelf life until the next day. I also grabbed a few large peanut butter cookies to sample later with coffee. Hearth Baker had no pastry, so I wasn't distracted by cakes, pies or other sweet possibilities. I didn't see those sandwiches mentioned by others, but anything stuffed between their bread/rolls would have to be great. What I did buy was excellent. The rye had a slightly sweet, yet grainy savoriness that was delicious, both fresh and toasted. Perfect for sandwiches or accompanying soup. The rolls were also quite good, with semolina and other light/dark flours to modify their flavors. Also terrific just sliced and buttered and ripped apart by my incisors. Those peanut butter cookies were also awesome. A little crisp on the edges, yet chewy toward the middle. Plenty of PB taste. The Hearth Baker would be a great place to learn the artisan craft of baking breads.

Don’t let the unassuming store front fool you. The bread and sandwiches are delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I've frequented Heath for years and they helped to support my interest in baking by selling me flour over the last 3+ years. Aside from one incident, the staff has been tremendous and very kind. Typically, I would show my appreciation by also purchasing other items in addition to the flour. Today, I went in to buy flour and the woman who I spoke with (short with longer, dark hair) was so incredibly dismissive to me, even after explaining that I've been coming solely to them for years. She said something to the effect of "whatever' and started to turn away. It's disappointing that one person can ruin something that I enjoyed. I intentionally bought here to support a small, local business rather than buying from a mill or online store but I'm done after this incident. I will not be back, my family will not be back and I'll be sharing this experience when the opportunity arises.

Love this bakery and so did my grandma. Sourdough and pumpernickel swirl are my favorites. Prices are great. Highly recommend stopping by to check it out!
