UPDATE - They have changed the cheesesteak roll supplier and it makes a big difference so I upgraded to 4 stars! (Previous) Sad to say that after decades of great food that the cheesesteak has recently taken a downturn, most likely due to the new rolls being used.

My family and I have ordered from Pudge’s a handful of times since new owners took over. We always order cheesesteaks and we have not had one good one since the ownership change. They never have enough cheese, the meat doesn’t have much flavor and the bottom of the cheesesteaks are always watery/soggy. Unfortunately, we no longer have Pudge’s on our list of local go-to takeout places.

Called in to order the hot roast pork sandwich. When I arrived things seemed different. I didn't recognize any of the crew behind the counter. Then I found out that it was under new ownership. I had been a customer at Pudges for over 40 years from the time when it was owned by the Carbone family in Blue Bell. I must say that the new owners did not disappoint. This was the best hot roast pork sandwich i have had in years. It was the old style sliced pork not the pulled pork crap that they use on cheaper tough cuts of pork. The pork had a great flavor and was perfectly done. I will be stopping at Pudges more often in the future.

Best cheese steak. Consistent, top quality ingredients and plenty of. This is the way Philly rose to prominence as, in my opinion, the cheese steak capital of the world. Many have tried, few have, I’ll say it again the consistency and quality as Pudges. I took one star away on the atmosphere, only reason, if you’re looking for a restaurant atmosphere, this isn’t, this is all about cheese steaks.

the pictures speak for themselves, honestly. the food hits every time, never fail. the service is great and the prices are fair for the quality. there's nothing quite like a cozy local joint with somebody tearing it up on the grill and a witty lady with cat earrings at the register.
