I came to the area for work and I just had a really terrible day at work. HEATHER the waitress literally made it all go away. She saw how uncomfortable I was by myself and I requested to sit outside! She complimented me and instantly made my day. I didn’t get her name so I had to call and ask! We stopped at Broken Axe on our way to State College. Glad we did! Fried chicken sandwich, mac & cheese, Caesar wrap, fries, all excellent. We visited on a Wednesday night and it felt like a weekend. The vibe was lively but very chill. Our servers were attentive and everything came out quick and hot. The beer selection was better than some places twice as big. Really great hidden gem.

Great bar. Wide selection of beers. Have eaten several menu items and all were good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Any time we visit Lock Haven and Bald Eagle we make sure to go to the Broken Axe.
