Have been going here for years and only had one bad experience a couple weeks ago. Overall this place is awesome. I usually spend between 85 to 130 dollars when there. Yesterday I asked for Mayo for my burger and when I received my check they charged me 25 cents for what amounted to a spoonful of mayo. Is just me or is that just ridiculous after spending good money there?

Visit Date: September 4, 2023 New Hope, PA is one of my happy places. Since discovering it in 2021 with a guy I was seeing/turned friend after he ended things I've tried to get back here as much as possible. It's not a bad drive from Long Island. For some people a two to three hour drive is a bit much, but I drive a lot and I'm fine with the drive. So I went back on September 4 with a bunch of friends. I've been here with people and I've come alone. I like doing both. Everyone picked Fran's Pub to eat in so once I parked my car in the usual lot I park in we walked over to the pub. It's an old school/local pub with a lot of seating. I chose to have the BLT. I'm doing slightly better with money now, not great but a little better because I got money refunded for a flight that I cancelled. But during this time I wasn't sure about the flight refund and I was pretty much almost broke. Technically with the amount of debt I have I am pretty broke no matter what until I work to pay it down. The BLT was good, a nice amount of bacon, lettuce, tomato and Mayo. I think the chips they served were homemade. They were amazing about letting us hang out at the pub for a few hours. There was a group of us so maybe because it was a sort of large order they didn't mind. My one friend didn't want to be outside much because it was brutally hot and my other friend has bad knees and doesn't want to walk around. So 3 out of 5 of us in the group stayed in the pub. My other friend and I walked out after leaving our share of money for what we ate to go to Terri's gifts because I like to stop there when I visit New Hope as well. I would recommend this pub for a New Hope Visit.

I went today for the first time in years and I was absolutely blown away. I ordered mozzarella sticks and a chicken salad sandwich. The mozzarella sticks were fried to perfection and the sandwich was toasted enough but not too much. Food was amazing but the service was even better. Bartender was attentive and very nice. The location is also great with a amazing view of main st.

Food is always solid, always busy but not usually a wait. This particular time, Amy was our server and she was really charismatic.Would come back just to sit with Amy again! Food is great tho-

I can't speak for anyone else but I thought this place was great. As one person said as they walked by, "this place has a great vibe". We showed up around 6:30pm on a Friday night. We got seated right away. My wife and I grabbed a table near the sidewalk. We told Jake, our server, that we were kid-less; so we were enjoying the night. Normally a server would get us a drink and disappear, but Jake constantly came back throughout the evening to see if we needed anything. He was always super polite and cheerful. We ordered some drinks, apps, and dinner. I got mozzarella sticks and a cheesesteak. Both were really good. Music was great; some nice 90's rock. We had a wonderful evening. I would definitely go back.

We came here on the 4th of July right before the firework show so it was pretty busy, but we got our food quickly. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich and my boyfriend order the hot roast beef sandwich. I loved the pastrami. Beware though of the hot roast beef, they put ALOT of gravy on it, like way too much. We had to get another plate just so the sandwich wasn't drowning in it. The drinks were ok. The outside is nicely set up; the inside is just your typical bar/pub. This place advertises like it's a restaurant but it's more of a nice bar.

If your priority is a casual place to sit outside, grab a beer and people watch, this is your place. Plenty of seating and a bar right along the main road. If, however, you want some decent food...please keep walking. A completely forgettable meal much like our server's relationship with sweetener which we asked for three times. She was, otherwise, very nice and attentive. A disappointing note to an overall fantastic trip to New Hope.

Upgrading my review from several years ago. Had the opportunity to revisit Fran's today and add a star into my original review. Food was better. I had a chicken sandwich/panini and he had a cheese steak. We split some spinach artichoke dip that had me wishing we opted for the wings instead. More of a thick spinach paste. Lacking in flavor, texture and creaminess - but it was fresh. All in all I don't regret popping in to Frans and would have to say that it offers one of the largest outdoor dining in the town but probably will opt for another eatery next time in New Hope.

Fran's is a typical blue collar town bar. Good food at a reasonable price. Great service with a friendly smile. Patrons who are friendly and talkative who accept visitors as friends. Brought me back to one of the many bars in the blue collar town I grew up.

My boyfriend and I walked past this place a few times and finally, we stopped by one Saturday afternoon. We were seated pretty immediately outdoors on a warm sunny day, felt like we were off to a great start! We got started with some apps - Buffalo wings. Underwhelming, honestly don't remember the taste, might I add that we got the apps a while 45 mins after being seated. I was absolutely heated at this point because I was starving and was served lackluster wings. Our food came and my boyfriend got a burger. It was like a cafeteria burger, not juicy, barely any flavor. I got the Frans chopped salad. Horrific! The chicken add on i asked for tasted like boiled chicken that's been shredded with literally NO seasonings. I was so disappointed, and it's been an hour at this point. I was starving and had to force myself to eat the rest of my meal. Why did it take over an hour for some salad? Couldn't tell ya! Overall, service was slow, food was underwhelming. I will say, if you want to sit down and aren't that hungry and don't care about the food, this might be a good place to just sit down and drink. Don't come here looking forward to the food or service.

I have two, very well-trained, psychiatric service dogs to accompany me in high stress situations. My father-in-law, close friend and his 11 year old son walked up to the outside bar on Saturday afternoon. I explained to the bartender that they are both registered service animals and we ordered a round of drinks. The bartender gave me a stern warning. "If the dogs start barking you'll have to leave." I said they're trained not to, but occasionally when they see another dog walk by closely my one dog will bark once at most to indicate there's a dog. When I mussel her, she stops. She let one, low decibel bark out and I was told, "your dog is barking so you have to leave". I ignored the bartender's command and said, "she's not barking. She barked once." The bartender closed out my tab, and as it was clearly not busy he just waited for a chance to get in my face again. Once again, one dog walked by and my dog barely let out a sound before the irrate bartender demanded we leave. At that point, I told the bartender, "if you want me to leave you're going to have to call the police. These dogs are legally protected service animals and they have rights. We're sitting outside as a reasonable accommodation, and my dogs aren't bothering anyone so if you want us to leave you better call the police." Rather than embarrass myself any further, we left and I walked into John & Peter's Place and had a 5 star experience.

My friend and I went to Fran's just before 8 pm on a weeknight to play a game of pool after dinner. Our drinks were drugged as we played pool, and we blacked out. We recall possibly falling in the bar as we discovered numerous bruises on our knees, head, and hands the next day; and as we talked to friends later, they told us when we called them, we said we had been thrown out by the bar staff. The next day, we filed complaints with the New Hope Police department. 13 days later, and the police have not been able to get footage from Fran's or even know if it exists or the cameras are working!

Normally I don't write negative reviews but this place was a NO from me. Beer wasn't cold enough and the food was some of the worst food I've ever had. We got fried pickles, cheesesteak egg rolls, pot stickers and pizza. It was NASTY. Pizza was undercooked and tasted like nothing. The fried apps made my stomach hurt and tasted like nothing but fryer oil. That being said it was completely overpriced. Our beer came out in a plastic cup but everyone else around us had a glass pint so I don't know what was up with that. The establishment itself was cute and had a good atmosphere. Our server was attentive and nice. I wouldn't say no, but I 100% wouldn't eat here ever again.
