Wow! We had a fabulous time here. Friends and I biked the GAP trail over 4 days and this was absolutely our favorite stay. Our sitting room (Hoover I think) was large and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms were great, the bathroom was large with a very nice shower. And the building and decor are lovely and well-designed and curated. If I ride the GAP again this is the first reservation I’ll make.

This hotel is one of a kind that was a tool company before it was converted to a spooky kind of hotel. The hotel interiors were well done to maintain the spookiness and vintage. Rooms were comfy and the bathroom was absolutely clean. It was like a hostel type bunking with common bathrooms. The layout of the building is like a maze that confuses the user. The room names are also weird that adds to the confusion. No staff so everything is self service and the bathrooms are clean and huge. There is a garage to park the bikes. Should have clicked some pictures of the common rooms and the artifacts.Walkability: Lot of restaurants and the gas station are close by.

Safe and secure bike storage. I enjoy the checking yourself in and out. Didn't see anyone and that was one of my favorite things. Read the history of the building online. Very cool especially the ties to the town, the Meyer family and the trail cemetery!Very comfortable stay after biking the trail. Super quiet. Almost too quiet. We had our own bathroom in the shatterbox room. Stayed Wed night end of September 2023. I'd come again.Nearby activities: GAP trail right up the hillWalkability: Easy to get to GI DAYROOM for breakfast and WHITE HOUSE for dinner. Pizza and ice cream right around the corner.

Great place for a bunch of people to bunk together while riding the GAP. Great decor, and atmosphere. A little confusing at first, but super cool. Within walking distance of food, stores, and booze.Rooms: We stayed in a suite with a bedroom that had 2 queen beds and a bunk bed, also had a second room that was a living room.

This building is abandoned and unsafe. Do not waste your money and time at this “business.” There was not another soul in the building, the restaurant and pub advertised on the website were obviously out of commission for a while. The front door was open when we arrived. So much for a security code, which our shuttle driver told us hasn’t changed in years anyway. DO NOT STAY HERE! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS IN TOWN AT SMALL B&B’s. We did not spend the night. It was just awful.

This place has easy self check in. Perfect for cyclists on The Gap. Old building with character. I didn't encounter any ghost during my visit. I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling by bike.

We were on a 4 day bicycle trip on the Great Allegheny Passage that goes through Meyersdale, PA. We stayed at Morguen Toole Co. It was a wonderful, rustic, raw, old factory converted to a hotel!! Clean & comfortable. I enjoyed walking around & looking at everything. The old, wooden floors, brick walls, stairs. Storage for the bikes. If you are looking for something different this place is for you! Everyone loved it & was our favorite place on the trip!

Enjoyed an amazing spaghetti dinner here while doing a multi-day adventure on the GAP. We were blown away by the quality of the food and wonderful service. The clam linguini, calamari, chicken parm, and tiramisu were all incredible. Cannot wait to return!

Paper-thin walls that allowed us to hear every word spoken in the next room; signs of careless cleaning (toothpaste spit on sink faucet and used mini-soap in the shower); no response to our call for toilet paper (after a day of biking, and no action, we bought our own); cold shower and scalding sink water temp; FYI: we stayed in the Shatter Box room

This is a review of the hotel, which is very weird. The layout is a maze of hallways, doors and staircases. The hallway carpeting is dirty and the hallways smell nasty. My suite is really big with inadequate lighting. The shower is stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body gel, and there are lots of little bottles of lotion by the sink, but no hand soap to be found. The decor is supposed to be eclectic, but to me it's bizarre. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot.

They're got a terrific system for easy check-in and bike storage. Very cyclist friendly. It is a welcome stop when peddling the GAP. Nice restaurant and bar onsite, clean rooms, hot shower, and a unique atmosphere. Recommend breakfast at Donges within walking distance and a visit to the train museum just off the trail.

GAP Trail Experience: Morguen Toole in the past: You're greeted with a smiling face at check-in. Later you head to the bar for a cold beer, followed by dinner in the restaurant. You hang out to listen to a local musician playing acoustic. Refreshed..you hit the trail again the next morning. Morguen Toole present: Someone on the phone gives you a code to let yourself in the building. You go to your room. You pay market rate PLUS a $25 cleaning fee. I'm sure there's a covid card to be played and mention of short staffing. But to me, it seems a vision has tanked.

Loved staying here with it's high ceilings and a good mixture of old building charm and new bathroom fixtures. Very accommodating for bicyclists with a bike storage room and soon to be restaurant/bar.

We stayed here on our bike trip along the GAP trail. Really fun and interesting building and our room was exactly what we needed. Easy to access bike storage on the ground floor. We enjoyed some refreshing beverages and dinner at the pub with fantastic service from Dawn (who volunteered to help over the weekend)! The day we were there was day two of the restaurant's opening. The staffing and organization needs a bit more polish. We witnessed several kinks that will certainly get worked out. Would definitely stay here again and give the restaurant another try too.

The Morguen Toole Co. hotel is leaning into the quirky and creepy. And while it's not perfect, it's an interesting place to stay. The good part is that it's close to the Great Allegheny Passage trail, and has indoor bike storage. It's a beautiful building, and close to Dogues Drive-In, with great pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. Our room was open and waiting for us, and clean. Beds could use an upgrade (squeaky and not totally comfortable). There was free coffee but no cups. But they had water to fill up your bottles for the trail, and while the restaurant wasn't open while we stayed there, the owners were super nice and friendly, and it looked cool when we peeked in the windows. Be advised there is no one on premises, though they have someone on phone duty from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. And while we were there, there were no other guests, which made a late-night creep around the creaky floors with WAY too many doors that led nowhere and darkened rooms just all the more spooky.
