“We do not have an Indian restaurant where I live. It is my favorite cuisine. I have driven to Monroeville more times than I can count to satisfy my family’s Indian cravings (yes even my 7 year old loves Indian food). I can say without a doubt this is the best I have tried in the Pittsburgh area. The freshness and quality is so amazing. The owner is very personable and service is great. I will go no where else but this place going forward. So happy a decided to stop on a whim!“

“Great sambar idli/vada, they give a ton of chutney. Most places are stingy with the chutneys. Ambiance is also really good, makes me nostalgic of restaurants I grew up eating at in Dallas. Nowdays places like saravanaa bhavan are nice but more corporate/sterile and less homey than Udipi.“

“I love the amount of real spices they use in their curries. I can tell that the restaurant has a great quality of food. I am very sensitive to (hot) spices, but I want to enjoy the flavors of Indian food. If I ask for a 0 the spice level feels too hot for me. Last time I came, I asked for them to adjust the spice level to be milder than 0. They were able to reduce the heat in the dish to levels I could handle without reducing the flavor. I have not dined in at this restaurant, but enjoy the ambience of the place. It is clean and the decor is eye catching.“

“We found this little place by luck and I am so glad we did I have been eating Indian food for a lot of years and their food is fantastic it is served family style and comes out fresh and hot The spice level I ordered was perfect and the naan is sooooo delicious oh and the hot chai …. “Love the lamb wrap here. Wish I didn't have to struggle with asking them to make the meatballs well done because not every staff member gets it. When it's crowded or another time, they tell me it's already well done and at that moment, I already know I won't be enjoying it as much. But the guy with the long hair who understood it today and clearly mentioned it in notes, thank you so much. The wrap turned out to be wow! Perfect. But I'm uncertain if I'll be able to enjoy the lamb meatballs/wrap the exact same way next time.“
