So the first time I went here—oh my gosh! I was amazed at this host. I came about a month ago with my five grand kids. We sat at the counter, and the young woman, who I believe said her name was Grace, introduced herself. We told her we were ordering ice cream, and she got right to it.
Mind you, it was around 6 p.m. and the place was pretty busy. She took our orders, got our drinks, and went straight to work on the ice cream. We ordered everything from sundaes and soft serve to milkshakes. Meanwhile, she was also seating people, working the register, and making our ice cream all at once.
The phone started ringing, and she stepped out, picked it up, and took a takeout order—all while making a sundae at the same time. My grand kids got impatient after just a couple of minutes, but she immediately handled it by giving them crayons and refilling their drinks. Within about 8 minutes, she had all of our orders out.
On top of that, she was also handling people at the outside ice cream window. I’ve worked in this business before, and let me tell you—it’s stressful and hard work. Yet somehow, she stayed calm, collected, and kept everyone happy. She seemed pretty young too, but let me just say: she is the definition of hardworking.
I came back again with my husband, and unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the same. Our server was clearly intoxicated—she smelled strongly of alcohol and was very slow. The food was still good, but that kind of behavior should never be allowed.
The Windmill can be a hit or a miss, and it really shouldn’t be that way. Sorry for the long review, but it needed to be said.

Breakfast was really good here. All your diner basics with a few extras. We weren't looking for fancy food, just a hearty bfast. Creamed chipped beef on biscuits is not an option you often find, but they did, and it was great. Scrapple & cheese omlet hit all the right notes for my husband. Our server Amber(?) Was attentive, keeping the coffee cup full. She was great.
Horrible experience here. First the service was horrible and took forever to get our food. I ordered a kids cheeseburger with no cheese since my daughter is allergic to dairy. When they brought the burger out it had cheese on it. The waitress did apologize and took the burger back. When they came back with it my daughter flipped the burger over to find that all they did was flip the burger over to the non cheese side. So it still had cheese on it. In the mean time they brought out my cheeseburger sub which I am allergic to cheese as well with cheese on it. I sent it back my daughters and I came back and you could see the cheese was scraped off the burgers. My burger sub came out with nothing on it but a burger in a hoagie roll. This is the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. The burgers were cold and drier then the bread they came on. Never going here again.

Cute place on the outside with the windmill out front. The inside is kind of dull and old. Food was okay but coffee was good. Has a small shop inside which was cool.
