Our first visit, on 05-24-2026, will be our last. We were hoping for the breakfast buffet but were informed upon arrival that they were not serving the buffet for the holiday weekend. Instead, we ordered a seafood combo and a chicken meal. They were out of our first choices for sides, so we settled for collards and rice. We were told that it would be 20-30 minutes for our meals, because they are prepared to order. 40 minutes later, we got our food, minus the collards. Only one other customer had come in after we placed our order, and her food was ready before ours was. Everything lacked flavor, overall., just blah. The crab balls were spoiled and inedible. The best thing that we can say is that the fried foods were crispy and the hush puppies were ok. We were told that we would see a credit to compensate for the rotten crab. Haven’t seen that yet. I will update the service rating if that comes through. Bottom line: very disappointing!

Had the Maryland crab sandwich. You can tell it was just made by hand and you see all the crab meat in it. Not your ordinary patty! Fries have some spice on it and they were a great flavor! Really potatoes that were cut! My hubby had the fish box, everything was cooked just right! Melted in your mouth! He also made the macchiatos perfect. 10 out 10!

First time there today. The whole inside was nice & clean, staff was great! Carmel macchiatos were good. We loved the potato pancakes (made with real shredded potato). Loved the Italian wedding cake & cherry cinnamon buns. Will definitely return to try other stuff! Looking forward to trying the vegan items for sure.

If you’re around mt carmel or just looking for one of the best quality and atmospheres go to big mamas. Hands down the best food I buy. Not only is the food fresh and the quality is top tier, the staff are nothing but welcoming and loving. 10/10 that’s for sure!

This was the first time going here. The food was phenomenal and the place was so clean and quiet. I would defnitly recommend breakfast as that what we got. For a small town to have this as a food option was such a good experience and was easy to navigate. Will defnitly be going back very soon with friends to get another great experience. Highly recommend and they do have door dashing if you want to order out also.

Wow. This is what this town needed. Food was delicious and the service was A+++++. You don’t get service like this in the coal region. The variety of food availability is superior to any other establishment I can think of. Highly recommend
