It is not very sanitary in there. It is a cute spot with friendly staff, but it was pretty gross. Ice cream was tasty, but nothing you’d go out of your way to get again (and they were out of basically everything in the case). It’s the place to go when you’re craving ice cream and you happen to be on Washington Road. The smell was… something else too, maybe I came on a bad day.

A cool looking shop on the Main Street in Mt. Lebanon. However, it was definitely not the cleanest or sanitary on the inside. Even the ice cream case itself looked very gross and like it’s never been cleaned. They were almost out of 1/3 of the flavors as well and didn’t have the banana whip available which is why I came in. The ice cream sandwich I had tasted good but the cookies didn’t seem very fresh or homemade which was disappointing.

We love this place. A nice place a to grab a dessert after a delicious meal at one of the many great restaurants in the area. Even thought there's Amy's right down the block Besty's stands on it's own.
On a nice day, you can grab an ice cream and walk across the street and enjoy it in the open space around the fountain (see the pictures).
Friendly staff, delicious ice cream and lot of options for a tasty snack/dessert.
Parking: There are three options for parking here. Street parking (paid parking), North Parking Garage (665 Washington Rd, Mt Lebanon, PA 15228) and Public Parking Garage (714 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228)

Its worth a stop in if you are walking around the area. Atmosphere sucks but i mean not due to anything other than it being drab. Good service and the flavors are usually interesting. Serving size was good and the service is good as well

I have called this company 5 times because they offer catering services . Still have not received a call back . I truly don’t understand how places like this stay in business when they can’t even return a simple phone call .

The Lemon Rose Water was light & refreshing... The Young Men maning the counter were kind, honest & patient with Me & My Family! Proper Young Guys! Nostalgic atomsphere. Ice Cream was pretty good, choices for everyone. Nice little gem to try after you've had a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants on Washington Rd.
When entering the front door I was afraid to get a splinter …… it looks like the door hasn’t been painted since 1973! The store had a musty odor..When looking in the back the floors look like they haven’t been mopped for years!The trash flip lids were sticky from old ice cream smears!Now the staff.. we asked if they had anything with coconut and neither one of the two knew they had it. We had to point out to them that they had 2 varieties.Will not be returning!
