Food was so so. Hamburger meat looked underdone. Bathroom had zero toilet paper in it.

My family came in Tuesday for dinner. I am the biggest fan of tacos and so was excited to try taco salad , however the beef had absolutely no taco seasoning at all. The kids ordered chicken tacos and the same issue. Drink choices are VERY limited . So 50 dollars for a family of 4 and we all left hungry. Was absolutely terrible.
Delicious ?

Probably as authentic as it gets in PA. Good menu. Not the most updated- Facility looks a little intimidating but the food was good. Server was polite. Quiet. My kids loved the food - decent kids menu. Tacos, quesadilla, burrito, hamburger, fries, hotdog, etc.
Wheelchair accessibility: There's a slight ramp. Doors are not automatic. Might have some slight difficulty.

I didn’t rate El Canelo Mexican restaurant in New Castle? Quick answer, I love their food. Ate there again today. The Mexican out by Walmart on 224/State st. Is fine. But El Canelo on Wilmington ave. is better. Better tasting food (it has authentic flavor, not gringoed down) and Dos Equis on draft. Or Modelo. Afternoons for lunch are a real good time to go. And weekends. And evenings. Oh, and they got a salsa bar. Pico de gallo is outstanding. A spicy or not spicy guacamole. It’s a family run joint where you will get great service and great home cooked food. And you can’t ask for more than that.

The mildly run-down exterior hides a truly incredible location, the food, salsa/topping options, and service were truly incredible. The chips were not stale in the slightest, my family actually needed a second basket they were so good. The service was quick friendly, and conversational! This is the best Mexican food I've ever had.The Chile rellenos are a MUST!
Vegetarian options: There seemed to be vegetarian options for all of their menu offerings
Parking: A lot of parking all the way around the building.
Kid-friendliness: They were great with our kids!

The food is amazing with great portions!!! Free chips and salsa and the chips are always warm. The owner and staff are very professional and polite. I recommend the Pollo Loco, which will be pictured below or the Chimichangas.
