About The Salt House

The Salt House is a highly acclaimed restaurant that has impressed diners with its exceptional food, drinks, and service. The Brussels sprouts are a standout dish, and the fantastic burger has earned the restaurant a reputation for serving the best in town. The atmosphere is cozy, with a big fireplace on the first floor, enhancing the dining experience. The owner is known for their friendly and accommodating demeanor, creating a welcoming environment for all who visit. Guests have enjoyed dishes like sea bass, crabcakes, and the praised Mac and cheese. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels well taken care of. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, The Salt House delivers a truly memorable dining experience that surpasses other restaurants in the New Hope and Lambertville area.

The restaurant is located in a pre-revolutionary war building, making the most of its quirky space with upstairs and downstairs seating and centuries-old staircases. The service is friendly, if not the most professional, but they try hard in the unique restaurant conditions. Diners can enjoy a vast selection of draft beers, wines, and cocktails, as well as a delicious charcuterie board and steak frites. The crab cakes, in particular, are praised as being one of the best.

It was incredibly cold and drafty and the waiter was rude to the member of our party who had food restrictions. We had to ask for dessert and they never came to check on us for water, etc. we had to get their attention when we needed something. So much potential but it was unwelcoming. Was so excited to go; but won’t return. Also sent private message to them but they never responded so I’m posting this because I wish I’d known and had gone somewhere else with my visitors!

We have two older, children 9 and 12 almost, who are world travelers and extremely well behaved..we entered asking for a table at 5 pm dressed up on a Sunday after the New Hope Christmas train and were told they had a table, then the hostess came back and said they actually didn’t have a table …I then asked about how long it may be for a table, she then said they’re booked all night..I kindly told my daughter in front of the server that they probably didn’t want children...read full review
