I find this place on Google Maps while traveling, local mom and pop place with good reviews, so I go in.
I ask for my usual, double jack and diet in a tall class. The bartender brings it and it tastes light. I didn’t think much of it, maybe their soda fountain has a strong mix or something.
So the next 2 I watch her pour, she did a 6 count on free pour (which I’m a proponent of free pour after working in bars that make you use jiggers or other controlled methods, it gets really hard when busy) instead of an 8 count.
The last one I ordered as the bar filled up with what seemed like regulars and she does a 4 count. When she brought it over, I said that’s a single, right? No that’s a double she said… I wish I would have had her pour the jack into shot glasses before she put the diet in.
I didn’t say anything, paid and tipped her 20%, then went to ask for a manager. To be clear, I did not want any compensation, I just wanted to explain the situation and suggest that they retrain the bartender on free pours and maybe have her do a free pour into a rocks glass and then check it by pouring that into a shot glass. This is actually how I honed in my free pour skills.
Turns out, the bartender is not only the manager, but the owner too. I guess next time I just have to be more confrontational in the moment. I just don’t like doing that because I’ve worked a LOT of food service and bar and really enjoy the local places.
Oh: and I just went through the reviews in more detail. Almost every negative review that the business replied to was a snarky “you should probably dine at home next time and not come back” type of response. Realllll classy, Armetta’s. Will definitely not be back.

I walked over from the truck stop to get a slice of pizza, because I'd had their food a couple years ago when I was passing through. The food was as delicious as I'd remembered. I ordered 2 slices of pizza and a salad to eat there. Then.. I ordered food to go as well. The pizza was the best I'd had in over 20 years, the salad was fresh, the house dressing was to die for. (I asked for the recipe but that was a hard no.) So I ordered a salad to go so I could get more dressing. The waitress was perfect. OMG... The cheese cake is 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as well. I'll definitely be back. Well done Armetta's, well done.

I drove all the way from Michigan to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and boy it sure did not dissspoint. Great service, friendly smiles. I even ordered an extra for the drive home. Some very unique windows in this building really sets it apart from the rest! Will be back
This was a quick unexpected stop for me after driving all day and not quite being able to make it home. I called in my take out order from the hotel across the way - just a simple slice. It was ready and waiting when I got there. Then I saw another pizza available by the slice and had to add that too. Once snuggled back in on the snowy night with the tv remote all to myself, I lit into those slices. Very tasty. If I'm ever in the area again I'll make a point of going back. The staff I interacted with were courteous and accommodating. 🍕
