I love this place - we’ve been coming here for years. The food is always fresh and so delicious. I love the blackened chicken garden salad (the balsamic dressing is top notch) and the sweet potato and jalapeño soup.

We only got the Argentina empanades. They liked and smelled delicious but sadly there was really no flavor or sense of spices or herbs when we bit into them. The place was crowded and other platters liked delicious.

I don’t know why it took me 15 years to try this place but I am absolutely HOOKED
I usually doordash but today I decided to eat in. Amazing soups; turmeric and split pea is fantastic. Tuna panini is a weekly staple for me. Such a great lil place truly a hidden gem

Went to the Salt Cave for some much needed meditation with my lovely partner. Relaxed we agreed to try this place Cafe Con Loche. I'd consider us foodies of sorts. I'll tell ya honestly...we were floored by the food here. We ordered the Bruschetta, Blackened Chicken and Chicken Burrito. All were absolutely phenomenal. Our server was aces. She had perfect timing and was a pleasure. The place is super cozy. The ambience was chill. Might be the salt talking but I loved it. Thanks Cafe Con Loche. You made our trip to Newtown complete. Long may you run.

Vicki and Danielle (and the Chef!!) are incredibly accommodating, friendly and make exceptional food. I’ve been coming here for years and just yesterday!! The portions are huge and I had lunch today from the left overs!! They are just as great as yesterday!!!
I read some of the reviews below and find it frustrating that people can just review a one star for waiting 🤦♀️.
For a place like this, a small restaurant that provides quality over quantity sounds like the people should just go to a fast food joint for a quick meal. I’ve been a customer since before Covid and the food and customer service has never wavered. I drive from NJ and pass dozens of places since I moved to get here. It’s quality and care. If you’re looking for a place that didn’t loose the ability to make you feel like it was worth the choice, come here. Seriously are you on your way?? If not, the brownies should make you quickly get in your car and drive here. Or the homemade whip cream, you’re welcome!!!!

⭐ One Star
This was my second visit—and unfortunately, my last. We arrived at 2:30 PM, seated ourselves as instructed, and by 2:41 PM we still hadn’t been formally greeted, offered water, or provided a beverage menu. A staff member (white male who told us to sit anywhere) walked by, and we politely asked for water. He said he would be right back after using the restroom. I waited near the front counter, and he walked right past me to make coffee—steaming milk and preparing a coffee for someone else—without so much as a glance toward our table. We never received water or any service at all.
After driving nearly 40 minutes to dine here again, we ended up walking out and finding another place to eat. Disappointing doesn’t begin to describe the experience. The only reason I’m giving one star is because of the memory of the attentive and friendly staff from my last visit. Unfortunately, that level of service was nowhere to be found today. I can’t rate the food because we were never served. The atmosphere was average, but the service (or lack thereof) has made it unlikely that I’ll return.

Never once have I had to edit a restaurant score from a five star to a one star this place on my second visit there was totally bad. The waiter even said hold on. He has to go to the bathroom and he’ll get our drinks after he’s finished making some coffee When we got there. We asked to get water while we decide on the drinks that we want. we waited 10 minutes and still have not received our water. In addition the waiter was doing everything else, and there was only one other person in the restaurant at the time, but he refused to come back and serve me in halfway decent Matter. Maybe it’s just the waiter but the service there sucks. I will hope the food is better during the day I just decided to Leave before even ordering

Came here for lunch while in the area. The quesadilla was phenomenal! Server was professional, although they did seem under staffed for servers. Overall, it was good! I would definitely recommend!

When I walked in, I wanted to walk out. ThIs is a basement atmosphere. Walk down steps, windowless, depressing, no ambience whatsoever. That said, the food and service were very good. Fresh, unusual selections, though some are a bit overpriced. Great soups. Appropriately seasoned foods.
Loved the place. It's a hidden gem, a small cozy cafe downstairs. Sweet potato soup and quesadilla were amazing. The service is very pleasant
