This shop refuses to put a single shot of coffee in your drink. I said I'd pay for two if they can split the double shot and they refused. They said it will ruin the taste, but is the customer not allowed to choose what taste they prefer? How asinine.

If you’re an espresso aficionado or someone who truly cares about coffee—knowledgeable about processing, varietal, region, elevation, and extraction—this is your best bet in the area.
I’m a former professional barista (through the second and third waves) and now a meticulous home barista in the fourth wave. After moving from Philadelphia—a city spoiled with fourth-wave roasters—I was grateful to discover Calm Waters. They’re the only local spot offering a comparable experience.
They feature rotating single-origin espresso and drip selections, usually leaning toward Scandinavian roast profiles, which is a huge win around here—especially when most nearby roasters in Yardley and New Hope still seem stuck halfway through the second wave.
My only knock—and this would only be noticeable if you’re a coffee nerd like myself—is consistency behind the bar. The roasting is top-tier, but the execution can vary from barista to barista. Most of the time, the shots are well-pulled. Today’s, for instance, was beautifully balanced (just a touch over-extracted) and actually inspired me to write this review. On a previous visit, they even obliged my request to serve the espresso in my personal Kruve glass—another small gesture that shows they care about the craft. Still, the pour overs have been consistently excellent.
Are they as good as Philly standouts like Vibrant, Ultimo, ReAnimator, or Elixr? Or the nationally celebrated roasters like Onyx, Proud Mary, or Black & White? I’d say they’re pretty darn close—and for the suburbs, I’m pretty darn grateful. I’d just love to see the barista training rise to match the quality of the roasting.
Thanks, Calm Waters!

The vibe and staff were great but the coffee… super watery! Not the best and not worth the price. However, if you’re looking for a vibey place to study or read a book, calm waters is a good spot. But for good coffee, try somewhere else.

Drinks are good, baked goods are disappointing, clean modern atmosphere. Great to have this place in town; it's pretty much the only decent coffee option. For some reason they're not very flexible about drinks (some they won't let you order iced, others you can't add mocha to, rules rules rules). Anyway very friendly staff, but it seems there's something deeply customer-unfriendly behind the scenes somewhere.

I like their coffee and I was a customer in Bristol long time.
But at the same time girl which working there was absolutely rude to me not first time because I asked if they can make cappuccino with single shot. Yes, I asked it few times during last 6 month , but it’s not a reason to talk with customers that way.
Today I came to ask Jason( nice guy! The best one! Always helpful) a question about some drink and she came over and started talk to me:” I already told you many times that we don’t do single shot”. I said that we talking about another thing and there is no reason to talk to me. It is so unprofessional!

Quaint local coffee shop with excellent coffee and service. Staff were friendly, offered suggestions, and customizations to coffee drinks. The shop is larger inside than it appears from the outside. Plenty of room inside to sit, relax, and enjoy your food/drink. Overall, a great coffee shop that I wish was in my neighborhood.

A great spot for coffee! I tend to go there solo and can enjoy a quiet morning even when most tables are filled. Weekends can be busy but service is always top notch.
