Service was great , but the dish I had was inedible. Im not a fan of sushi, so I had the chicken pad thai . The chicken tasted like it had been soaked in bleach and there was no seasoning nor flavor to the dish. 7 years ago, the food was much better. It has drastically declined. I will not return

The service was very good but the food overall, was average though the vegetable tempura appetizer was good. Our main courses, a bento box at $28 and a rainbow roll at $18, didn't match in quality ingredients and were also disappointing, lacking in freshness and taste. Oishi just isn't up to the standards of other sushi restaurants in this higher price point. Sadly, not worth the trip.

Was lucky enough to snag a seat at the brand new bar last night for their grand reopening. Really love what they did with the space and truly excited for the addition of the bar so that we can enjoy their great custom cocktails with newtown's best sushi. The food is obviously still on point but beware of their penicillin drink! With their in-house pressed ginger and bitters, holy crap they are dangerously delicious! Love the upgraded esthetic and vibe at Oishi! Oh and lastly i love that they brought over some of the korean menu items like boa buns and crispy korean fried chicken from their other spot Omiza ?

Vegetarian options: Pescatarian's dream

Dietary restrictions: They were super accomidating to my party's gluten sensitivities

Kid-friendliness: Many families enjoying dinner. Spacious for strollers and booster seats for the little ones

The gopdol is my go to dish; I get it every single time. I also had chicken fried brown rice as a side. Their food is excellent here! They're the same people that owned K.O.'s before they shut down.
I wish they had a way to do separate checks for each individual. It was a hassle running cards for five different people, but it won't stop me from eating there

Oishi will always be a special place for us. It’s where my husband and I had our first date in their original location in 2007. It’s the best sushi in the area. Their salmon is top tier. Within the past few years since 2019, they went down a notch. We were worried our fav place was losing their magic. This last visit, felt like the old Oishi we know and love is back. Great menu with the KO additions too. Everything was amazing!

The sushi and rolls are very good. The yellow tail jalapeno appetizer is my favorite!

I gave the service two stars because it is, and always has been extremely slow. I also downgraded the atmosphere because it always seems disorganized and somewhat cluttered.

Highly recommend the Sophia roll. Fried rice was underwhelming and overcooked.

Had a great dinner here a couple weeks ago! Crispy rice cakes & gopdol bibimbap were AMAZING! (Esp the gopdol I keep saying I can’t wait to go back for it lol) Also got the chicken satay skewers, which were great as well. Service was A+ from start to finish.

Terrible! We went one other time and it was the best fried rice we’ve ever had. This time the worst. Service was awful, the busser was chewing gum throughout the dining room, sushi was so fishy and the front door was covered in finger prints and dirt. Will not be returning.

This was one of my favorite restaurants for years. Haven’t been there in a few months. Last night I ordered the miso soup and it had one small piece of seaweed and 3 teeny broken pieces of tofu and broth was salty. Then I ordered my fav, gopdol. . Very small serving bowl, hardly any rice, weird tasting sauce and the only vegetables were broccoli. What happened to this restaurant. New and awful chef??? The gopdol used to be loaded with wonderful veggies and sprouts. So disappointed

The food was good, but the service sucked. The waiters wouldn't come to our table unless we called them over.
Furthermore, there were three plates on the table, two of which were chipped. This may not impact the flavor of the food, but it certainly detracts from the overall aesthetic.

Honestly the food is amazing at pushing. My favorite food to get there is the Calamari tempura and the beef gophdol which is a special rice dish h that comes out in a very hot pot . Best Korean food in Newtown .
