This is an unfortunate review…I have been coming here every 2 weeks for over 2 years but it has changed and it is not the same place. Although the food was delicious, the service was terrible. We asked for water when we sat down and we ordered drinks. Our waitress,Mallory, proceeded to take our menus before asking if we were planning to order any food, we had to go up and ask for them back. Then we had to move to a new table and she took them again. She brought our drinks, still no water. We ordered dinner and our food came out in a timely matter….delicious. We ordered another glass of wine halfway through our meal, still no water. Turns out she never put in the order for our water or 2nd drinks, we had to go to the bar and ask for the drinks. When they were delivered we asked for our water…again. Mind you, our waitress did not deliver the wine or water to us but 5 minutes later she comes over and puts our bill down, stands at the empty table next to us and hovers…we aren’t done yet! Someone asked her what she was doing and she openly voices that she was waiting to leave. 5 minutes of hovering later she asked us to settle up so that she could leave. I’m sorry, what?!?!? We had not even been there an hour and it was only 8:00pm. She never acknowledged her errors and just wanted to leave. We had not seen her since we ordered our food when our first drinks were delivered. I understand that she needs to leave, but to tell a paying customer in the middle of their meal to settle up is wrong. I have been told that a waiter/waitress is leaving for the night but I have never been so much as told to pay my bill because my waitress wants to go home. I also have never written a bad review but this was by far the worst service I have ever had and not one person, other than the poor guy who brought our drinks and water, acknowledged any of it. Then when we tried to get the bartenders attention for another drink we were completely ignored. We will not be back. Do better.
This place is only great with Jack the bartender, he makes the BEST EXPRESSO MARTINI hands down. It's hard to find someone to make a true expresso martini, he makes it everytime!

I gave it one star because 0 stars is not an option. The manager is incompetent, restaurant is understaffed. While they acknowledged they overbooked with 2 parties, they did nothing to compensate for their error. I watched several people in one group leave. I waited 2 hours for lukewarm, mediocre, overpriced food. I’m never going back.

I attended a Charity event Sunday that ended up for a late lunch at the Sycamore. The Restaurant was well aware a very large group would be there for a late lunch. This event has been held there several years on this same weekend so we weren't a surprise. When we got there were told they took in another group of 60+ cheerleaders and we would only have outside. The staff was overwhelmed and we were jammed in. Our food took 2 hours to be served. Many left missing the raffle and 50/50 drawing. Did I mention this was a fundraiser for cancer. Never again!

Never going back. The manager is incompetent and arrogant. He admittedly over booked with 2 different groups and did nothing to address the understaffing issues he created. The food was served lukewarm, mediocre in flavor and overpriced. Mr. Manager…never a good thing to have people walk out of your establishment because you messed up. Do better.
Bartenders were responsive. Wait staff took forever to get food delivered to us while we sat at the bar. (Over an hour and 15 minutes) Our group had pre arranged reservation for over 100 people for an event and management took on another 90+ people that did not have reservations. Very disappointed.
Went with a group that was booked and the place was double booked the servers tried their best but the management team was horrendous… I would think twice before asking them for even a glass of water let alone to reserve the place for a large group! Heard my friend called about it since people went across the street for food and drinks! No apologies from the manager and the audacity to hang up on him. Horrible it I could give negative-5 stars I’d give that
Was with a large group, we had to sit outside in the cold because the manager double booked (our group was booked first) The waitstaff was stretched thin but did their best

Found Sycamore Grill using Google Maps. We arrived a little before 3 pm, so the dining room was empty. A man came to the hostess podium, told us to choose a table and he would bring us menus. We were given water and waited. And waited. My husband asked someone where were our menus. He went to the back to find out. Apparently there is a black hole back there that sucks up whomever enters. After 10 minutes, more or less, we left. Went to the Green Parrot across the street. Great food. Prompt service. Sycamore Grill, take a lesson.

I stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday before going to the Newtown Theater for a concert. As you enter there is a average size bar with tables along the perimeter walls. To the left is a large dining area and in the back an outdoor covered porch with a small bar which is where I sat. I ordered a turkey club which came with homemade chip fries and a pickle. Turkey was fresh as well as the bread. My only menu complaint is that everything had bacon in it or on it. Other than that they have a great bar menu. Customer service was excellent and both the host and server were pleasant and exemplary. Will stop in again I liked the vibe and the atmosphere.

Great food and atmosphere but I'm not sure what is going on with the service. Each time we go and sit outside, we are waiting an average of 15-20 minutes before having anyone come over and begin service. I can understand if they were busy, but they aren't when we go.
I think they need to train the younger staff better on prompt service and checking in on your patrons to see if they need anything and if they are pleased with everything. I hope this will improve.

I was there yesterday for lunch. We decided to sit outside and then discovered the wire chairs and uneven bricks on the patio were so uncomfortable. We actually had to rearrange the chairs to find ones that we could sit up straight in The waitress forgot our order because “I forgot to bring my paper with me to write it down, hahaha.” She then came back a second time, without her “paper” and asked who ordered what again.
I ordered the French onion soup and it was horrible. The soup was black, as if it had been sitting at the bottom of a pot for days. I ate three spoonfuls of it. Don’t patronize this overpriced establishment.

Called ahead to see if we could bring our dog. Waitress said, “yes, see you soon.” Food and service not a disappointment.
