I live close by and i had been thinking of trying it out ever since it opened up and finally went today since it was free, and have to say I was impressed. It was delicious and well prepared. Quick service and like I said, free, lol so couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you guys that were out there working & preparing food for free all day! “Was so excited to be back in the area to finally get fish, shrimp & rice. Went here because my usual place was not open. A little disappointed. It was ok but had a different taste than what I remember. No fault of theirs. Maybe I was just used to the cart location I previously frequented. Didnt really like the location. Too many young people loitering in parking lot.“

Parking: Inside of a gas station lot and also for commercial drivers there is a shoulder which you can park and have a short walk over to Food Stand.“

“Over the past few years there has been a big influx of Uzbek resteraunts in Northeast Philly. Barakat keeps their menu short and simple and because of this they are able to maintain high quality. I've been here twice and both times they exceeded my expectations. They have one of the best shawarma wraps in all of Philadelphia, it's made fresh off the spick and they fill up a wrap with lots of meat. I also love their samsa and their soups are also very popular. If you are coming here for the first time I recommend getting the Lavash Wrap (Shawarma) and the Samsa, you will not be disappointed.“

“TRUST ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS!!! I have passed by this place on my way to work and back home again everyday for as long as it's been open. For whatever reason I never decided to stop. I pulled up around 8:30pm which is just a half hour until they close and had no issue getting served. I got the lamb over rice and it was absolutely amazing. The white sauce is soooooo good. The man running the place seemed like a nice guy too. I'm not one to take the time to write a review, but this food was so good that I felt it necessary to leave one. I can say for certain that I will now be a regular here. Enjoy!“

Pictured: -Flautas -Shrimp Chimichanga -Mini Corn on the Cob -Chicken Tacos -Steak Burrito Bowl My favorite item from there has to be the flautas. It’s a deep fried rolled chicken tacos served with pico de gallo and sour cream. Highly recommend this restaurant to all those seeking a tasty mexican restaurant with good service and halal food!
