Hidden on Samson Street between 15 & 16th Streets in Philadelphia, you’ll find 1518 Bar & Grill. Hitting at happy hour was a treat, an extensive appetizer menu is a treat for those who are indecisive like my beautiful wife. Simple things like Mozzarella Sticks, delicious Meatballs in marinara, Fries Pickles and a surprising Shrimp Tempura plate that included mushrooms, zucchini and apples. I this was near home, 1518!would be our place, the hole in the wall with class, Everything was so good.Now, the beer: Is there ever a big beer that may be a little too drinkable? Perpetual IPA would be on the list, hoppy and bitter, yet smooth and clean with a candied fruit sweetness making it very drinkable. I could crush these, but would regret it later.IG: @crafty_fireman

The service was good. The food, not so much. Had pierogies, they were kinda slimy and seamed more like steamed than sautéed or fried. The crab cake was mushy, the abundance of tomatoes on top and avocado on the bottom completely took away from the actual crave cake. The calamari was cold. The wine was eh.
Where can you get Shrimp with Mushrooms Risotto, Fried Scallops, a Crab Cake sandwich, and a Lamb Gyro on your way to a concert at the Kimmel Center? At the 1518 Bar and Grill! Everyone in our party raved about their meal, though our meals went from "bar food" to restaurant food. Our cocktails were also very good. Our server was on top of their game, brought the menus and offered drink refills promptly - and took pictures. If you're in South Philly and looking for a place to eat, you found it!

This place is phenomenal! I have been coming here for sometime. As you know I only review diners, but occasionally the place has to be super good for me to give it five stars. From the time you walk in until the time you leave it has everything. Good food, clean bathrooms, great service, awesome owner, Willy. I love the shrimp scampi, and the BBQ pork sandwich but it is all good. This is that neighborhood bar that comes on top with some of the finest foods. Ask for a Brandy Alexander for a dessert drink.
Amazing spot to stop into after a long day. Amazing bar staff. Can watch a game or just relax with great food. Food tastes amazing usually packed good prices as well. Highly recommend very laid back and chill with friends or

Somehow I just left this establishment without being fed and I wasn't offered an alternative meal until the rest of my table was done eating. The worst part is that the manager did not try rectify their mistake. I usually have a great experience, but this interaction was too weird.
