This place had some great food and great vibes... except that despite us verbally confirming that all the vegetarian dishes were vegan with our server, there was a dollop of sour cream on our platter.

The owner's energy was immaculant from the start. The Ethiopian brother showed nothing but love, especially for my Sierra Leone friend from D.C. who was leaving Philly to go back home. He made it his duty to show us nothing but great hospitality and of course the food smacked! Portions was everything for me!

Clearly marked vegan options. Start with the vegetarian sampler, then eventually chose your favorite dishes from that. They also have gluten free injera (bread which i probably misspelled!), which is a huge plus. Super friendly, always tasty. There's limited seating so we usually do take out. Food is good hot but somehow just as good leftover. Awesome little spot.

I love Ethiopian and Eritrean food, and I haven't had food that tasted like this out of all my experiences. The bread was more sour than I've ever had at other restaurants, and the flavors were just wrong. No one at the table enjoyed any of the Ethiopian food in front of us, including my wife who loves Ethiopian food.

We ordered yebege tibs, vegetable combination, and doro wat. The meat and vegetables were cooked properly for texture, but their flavors were not good. There was nothing bad about the food (besides the extremely sour injera), and there was nothing pleasant about the food.

The awaze sauce seemed to have horseradish in it, and I love horseradish. I didn't love the awaze sauce and avoided it as much as reasonable.

When I cook Ethiopian food, I use berbere seasoning in much of it, and I don't recall tasting berbere in the food at this restaurant.

I was so sad that this was the first experience of Ethiopian food for some of my friends, and now they probably won't try Ethiopian food again, and I wouldn't blame them.

We got the veggie platter and the lamb. The platter was generally good although the potatoes in the tikelgomen felt a bit undercooked it was a bit solid and lukewarm in the middle. Rest of the vegetables were well cooked.

Main thing is the injera was too sour and overpowered everything else. (Not my first time eating injera/Ethiopian)

As for the service, the woman running it on Sunday lunch was very sweet.

The food is okay, needs more seasoning and the injera was too sour. I know it is supposed to be sour but this one was extremely sour

I would take recommendations from the waitress for what’s best on the menu. Would have liked more spice throughout the meal. Loved the cuteness of the restaurant. Service was good

This place is spectacular. We’ve never had Ethiopian food and came to try it this afternoon. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and the food was amazing. We got the doro tibs and veggie combo to try a few different things. My favorite was the doro tibs, misir, and beets. As someone with a gluten sensitivity, the gluten free injera option was incredible. I also got a soda. The total was less than $50 for two people. A wonderful place and I will definitely be back. Next time I’m looking to try their Ethiopian iced coffee!

I’ve been going here for the past three years of my life, bringing my friends and family as they visit me at school. This place is virtually my second home and the owners are sweet. It’s incredible food with really welcoming people I don’t think you can really good wrong.

Nice staff but we were uncomfortable at a table right in front of the door. The veggie platter was the least impressive of all the platters we've had before. It was unsalted/seasoned. The injera was too sour. Too expensive $17.50. Foule was ok.

Absolutely delicious. The vegetarian platter allowed me to explore all the options and I’ll be back again (especially for the beets).

I’ve been wanting to try Ethiopian food in the area for a while and this place did not disappoint. It’s definitely a more casual spot and they offer smoothies and coffee as well, including Ethiopian coffee! I ordered the Doro wat which was so filling and I had plenty to take home as well. Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends to try some Ethiopian food!

One of my favorites in the Rittenhouse area. The food is always on point - especially the kitfo and veg combo! Smoothies are great, too. Mango passion is my favorite. And the owners are the sweetest people you'll ever meet!
