I visited this restaurant during Restaurant Week, and food was subpar. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and the sauce was watery and lacked flavored. I usually enjoy Indian food at the nearby restaurants in Center city, but this was lack luster and I will not be returning.

I had the most incredible exceptional date experience at Sura ( I recommend asking about that experience if your goal is to WOW your date). The atmosphere was clutch for connecting whether meeting a date or a friend or just enjoying a quality meal with family. Their location is prime. Walking distance to other fun activities or head to nearby hotels. It is family owned. We got to meet the owner and wife as it's family owned. They love for culinary truly speaks through their dishes and spirits. They are THE Best Indian cuisine I've ever had. My partner and I are so looking forward to enjoying a taste of India at Sura every time we are in Philly. Sincerely - Dom and Lo

Food was well season and environment was good! Only issue true was my partner getting served the wrong dish, and when I asked we were lied to, being that I'm a chef I kind of knew already and it ended up making her sick.

I only had vegetarian food but their entree (curries) are excellent. Dessert is a must try (Raasmalai). Chef was talking to everyone and even helped us pick out items for our dinner. I can't wait to go again to try other things.

Food was not good at all. Lamb chops were dry and the chat was pathetic. Will never go back there. My friends had curry dishes and they were satisfied with them. Chai was awful. And service was mediocre.

I had an amazing experience at Sura! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with just the right mix of traditional and modern decor. The service was exceptional—friendly, prompt, and attentive throughout the meal. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. We tried the Vegetable Samosa, Salmon, Mutton Shuka, and Lamb SAAG which were absolutely delicious. The garlic naan was soft and warm. This Indian bistro exceeded all expectations, and we will be returning to try more of their menu. We had an unforgettable dining experience celebrating my birthday thanks to Chef Mani and Sharon! The food was incredible, with Chef Mani's culinary skills truly shining through each dish, and Sharon provided exceptional service, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the evening. Their combined efforts made our meal truly special. Highly recommend!

Some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time. I got the chicken biryani and my fiancée got curry chicken and both were excellent. The service was great and the staff was friendly. Would dine here again.

Came here for a dinner with a large group, and they were incredibly accommodating. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, as were the drinks. Would come back again.

Interesting menu with lots of choices. The kababs were extremely salty. Paneer dish was very few pieces of cheese and lots of spicy sauce. The eggplant appetizer was very good but spicy.

THE BEST Indian in Phila. Hands down. We are allaying looking for good flavorful Indian and it's super rare. Sura is lightyears above the others. The menu is broad and creative. The food was excellent - and we tried 6 dishes and 3 types of naan. The server was attentive, knowledgeable and happy to be there. The interior is beautifully done without being gaudy. All the chairs were made for comfort - not straight back wood (admittedly a personal peeve of mine). GO to this undiscovered gem before it gets discovered !

I just had to tell you about the amazing time I had at Sura! We were there to celebrate my son's 13th birthday, and it was absolutely fantastic! The team really went above and beyond to make our dining experience the best ever. The food at Sura was just exceptional, and the bartender Mark made me the most delicious cocktail with the exact ingredients I asked for. I ordered some vegetarian dishes like Saag Paneer, Khumb Majestic, Baingan Bhartha, and Smoked Paneer Tikka Masala, and let me tell you, they were all absolutely scrumptious! From the delicious food to the impeccable service and charming ambiance, dining at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. I would recommend Sura to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, and I can't wait to go back and show my friends this fantastic place! Plus, it's really affordable too.

Sura was a phenomenal and well-rounded experience. Upon walking into the restaurant, the calming ambience caught my attention. Everything from the drinks to the entrees gave off an Indian yet modern bistro vibe. I particularly enjoyed the Khumb Majestic appetizer because of the diverse flavors it provided. I also tried the British Inspired Tikka Masala with paneer and the Panchmel Dal. I highly recommend everyone to try these dishes. I'll definitely be coming back to this place to show my friends!

Overall a beautiful space with delicious appetizers. A bit disappointing to order family style. Main dishes had poor sauce to meat ratio. Delicious sauces but not enough meat to make the dish as well rounded. Therefore, the value is not worth a trip back unless you're going for drinks and light bites.

Unique and elegant decor. Food absolutely delicious. Staff so helpful and knowledgeable. We had some food restrictions in our group and the chef and staff were so kind and accommodating!

I wanted to edit my review as I tried to keep it as simple as possible and show some grace. I was not only charge the wrong amount. They tried to charge my card two times. The restaurant manager herself said that I will be refunded and that she will provide the dessert as we was eating the dessert. They brought us an additional bill and said this was the correct amount, it seems a lot back-and-forth with the restaurant management service that was provided to us. They wanted me to sit a minor at the bar in order to have happy hour. If I'm being completely honest to go even further into this review, the server did not call my daughter and said don't worry about it, which means that she could've said at the bar as a minor. Besides the miscommunication and poor service this restaurant ruined my daughters graduation dinner. Never say that I skipped out on a bill because I had my cards ready, but I was not willing to double charge my car because of their error. I do hope that you learn from this mistake and that another guest will not experience what I did.I wanted to revise my review to maintain simplicity and convey my feedback gracefully. Not only was I charged the incorrect amount, but there was also an attempt to charge my card twice. The restaurant manager assured me of a refund and even offered a complimentary dessert while we were enjoying our current dessert. However, we later received another bill claiming it was the correct amount, leading to multiple interactions with the restaurant management team. Furthermore, there was a request for my minor child to sit at the bar to access happy hour, which raised concerns. To provide a more detailed insight into my experience, the server did not address the issue of my daughter being underage at the bar, which could have been a potential problem. Despite these instances of miscommunication and subpar service, the overall experience severely impacted my daughter's graduation dinner.
