What a wonderful restaurant in Society Hill.
We stopped in for brunch and enjoyed a delicious meal and mimosas. The Croiffle, Kickstarter Sandwich, and bravas were all excellent. The service was also so friendly.
Definitely worth several visits.

We had a wonderful private dinner for my uncle's retirement. Sara May and the whole staff was beyond helpful, kind, and communicative throughout the process of setting up and getting the event together. Would recommend for any of your entertaining needs!

Bloomsday was one of the 27 bars that made the cut on USA Today's "Bars of the Year for 2024" list.

My first question was what credibility does USA Today have when it comes to making a "Bars of the Year" list? USA Today not in the trenches like that smh.

According to our robot friends (ChatGPT), there are 60k-70k bars in the US. Trying to narrow that down to 27 seems a bit ridiculous to me. It's giving "ESPNs top 100 athletes of the 21st century" list. They are clearly just trying to stir up some controversy to get their clicks and readership up.

Yeah, you got more engagement but at what cost? How much is your soul worth? But to be fair, here I am mentioning both lists so they are doing their job lmao. Y'all won...

Okay I'm yapping, but I walked into Bloomsdale hella skeptical.

We walked through the cobblestone streets of South Philly and entered an ultra inviting interior. Dim lighting with candles at every table, exposed white brick on the walls, white marble tables, clean wooden floors, vintage wooden chairs, a wood burning fireplace, etc.

We sat and within the first 10 minutes I already shazam’d 2 songs. I lowkey rarely shazam songs anymore, so that holds weight with me idk. Playlist was hittin.

Our waitress was super engaging and jawning with us, and was great at recommending the natural wines without being too serious. I honestly can't believe I didn't get her name cuz I really want to shout her out.

For food we went with the Lemon Pepper Wings, Patatas Bravas, Wedge Salad, Dry-Aged Burger, and Steak Frites.

Honestly, all the food for me was a solid 8/10. Really good food, but not great. Nothing blew me away. Although my girlfriend will be mad reading this because she LOVED her burger so I gotta shout that out.

This glass of orange wine I had though… my goodness. It was the best glass of wine I've had in a MINUTE. It was a natural biodynamic wine from Swartland, South Africa. Idk what "natural" or "biodynamic" wine really is, but I sound so sophisticated saying it so Imma keep running with it.

All in all, top 27? Hell nah, but the vibes and wine in here are sensational. I will be back for my natural biodynamic wine from South Africa. I only drink biodynamic wine now… you wouldn’t get it.

I had the greatest night here. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food blew me away with how amazing it was. The warm brownie sundae is a must. Not only that im very sensitive to noise and the restaurant seemed to absorb sound. I never once felt like I was yelling across the table. Our server gave us some pastries to take home which topped off how amazing our night was. Thank you! I can’t wait to come back and bring friends with me.

Great little date night spot! Wine is great, and food is tasty. Our server whose name escapes me was GREAT and we’d come back for her vibes alone.

My husband and I got married there early May for an intimate wedding of 50 guests. The space and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. Sara was incredible from day one to work with and kept us organized and at ease during the whole planning process. We decided on a cocktail style party, where food was stationed and flowing the full night. Sara and the chef/owner Kelsey helped us curate our custom dream menu along with D for the perfect wine pairings. The staff the night of were phenomenal and truly made our wedding the most perfect day. I cannot thank them all enough! If you are looking for a spot for any type of event, this is it. It won’t disappoint!

Instantly greeted with good energy and a beautiful/clean interior, my friend and I knew we had picked the right spot and were in for a good time. Christian made certain of that by being the hostess with the most-est and offering exquisite service from the first glass of wine to the delectable dessert menu. Great recommendations, instincts, and all around one of the most personable, yet professional servers I’ve experienced in the industry. 10/10. The music was good and at perfect volume, the wine list is vast but approachable, and the food (particularly the crab dip)…just sublime . It was definitely an experiential spot vs. another eat and go restaurant. This is one to savor and anticipate coming back to often. Keep it up!

We came here for our anniversary dinner and honestly could not have enjoyed it more. Creative dishes, top-notch service, and tasty cocktails. The staff did a few extra things to recognize our special occasion night. They also were willing to get creative to make dishes okay for gluten, dairy, and egg alergies. The space is beautifully decorated yet casual. Struck a nice balance between nice restaurant and neighborhood spot.
