Walked in here with my family of 3 & was automatically stared down by everyone in this establishment . Keep in mind we’re the only black people . Not sure if I was have a conversation with the manager but he was definitely someone in charge and very hostile for no reason. Clearly not welcoming or caring much to help and the more the conversation went on more staff came to the front just to stare lol how rude .Long story short definitely walked out of this place will NEVER spend a dollar here . Place doesn’t even look that good and the table smell of bucket water if yall think this spot is something fancy take a trip to the Mexican restaurants in Ny & Nj and learn a few things.

Great service, food is a small portion for the price. Food is good but not 1/10 compared with other Mexican places in South Philly. Drinks are not strong. i got 3 drinks, and i thought I was drinking flavored water.

Kid-friendliness: I don't prefer kids in this place

I was in town visiting my friend for the Philadelphia half marathon. I decided to visit this restaurant as it received great reviews previously. Please be aware that they are cash only but they do have an ATM in the lobby. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff was very pleasant. The restaurant is fairly busy and somewhat small inside but not overbearingly uncomfortable. My friend and I both ordered the al pastor tacos which unfortunately had a little too much feeling and could have a little bit more salt but enjoyable overall. I can't recall what drink I ordered what I do remember enjoying it. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and experience.

Margarita 5/5 great, Spicy mezcal. Ceviche disgusting. I think they put soy sauce in it. Tortilla soup boring and not hot. Steak tacos flavorless although the meat was cooked perfectly. Chicken chicaharones taco was absolutely horrid and completely inedible. Will never come back. Service was great. Way expensive.

Had a great visit here. We made an early reservation for 6 and the restaurant filled up real quick with locals. Other places in neighborhood was kind of empty and this place was packed. Restaurant can feel a little squished though.

First off, the service was far better than I expected from the outside. Our server was a young man with glasses (I think his name was Amado per our receipt) - he was fantastic with making us feel welcome. The staff also replaced our plates and cutlery when they were getting dirty.

Best dishes were Ofrenda De Los Dioses, blue corn tacos, and the quesadilla with zucchini flowers. The green salsa that came with the tacos, and the horchata was really excellent was well.

Would absolutely come back here to try other dishes here.

We had been meaning to try this place for a while and now that we have I'm glad that we did.

The menu has a ton of options. We ultimately went with the blue corn tacos (which felt like an obvious choice) and the seafood stew special. The el pastor blue tacos were... pretty good. The tacos themselves were actually a bit thinner than I would expect but the filling was quite nice. The hot sauce on the side was a really nice addition. And the cooked green onions that it came with was a surprising and delicious addition. The seafood stew was the star: so much seafood (albeit you pay the price for it-almost all of the entrees are a bit on the pricier side actually). I was surprised they served bread to dip into the delicious broth given that it's a Mexican restaurant but this was a good touch. The white fish and shrimp were really nice. The clams and mussels were fine-nothing terribly special. But overall excellently seasoned.

The drink menu is extensive. Cash only. Nestled into an adorable area of Little Italy. The service was extensive. We were super looked after and there were a ton of employees, many of whom served different roles and we ended up being catered to really closely. Definitely worth the try.

I didn’t get to try as much as I wanted because I went solo. BUT I will be back to try more stuff. Let me just say that what I had was so good. Consomé de pueblito: no notes, 10/10. It was like a chicken and rice soup with a Mexican twist. Loved the avocado, cilantro and raw onion. The corn was nice too. Huevos rancheros: notes, 10/10 lol. The ranchero sauce was very flavorful. Churros: 9/10. They were delicious, but a little undercooked in the center. The caramel sauce was phenomenal. Limonada: 10/10 but I’m obsessed with limeade so I might be biased. This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in philly.

Love this place! The service is always very attentive and if you dine in they have house-made hot sauces at the table that are very tasty. The only thing I would say is the inside is cozy but can get a little loud if you’re trying to have a conversation at the table. I feel the menu provides the opportunity to try a lot of different flavors. So far my favorites have been the quesadillas de flor de calabaza, the almuerzo campesino, the nopal salad, and the ceviche de pulpo was amazing. Plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options as well.

I came here for my birthday, the place was so packed. When you are here the place is just so tiny and very noisy.

The food in my mind was just okay, I was told the tacos were amazing here, but I felt like it was just average and I could have made batter at home.

Everything looked great, but it wasn't that tasty. Idk maybe I had too high of an expectation or it just wasn't for me. Either way, I'll not be coming back. Between having to pay cash and not really having a great time because I couldn't really talk with the people I came here with.

Went there with a friend for dinner because we heard how good this place is. The service is great! Even though they are busy and almost packed, they sat us down to our table and serve us immediately. No unreasonable wait time. The service is great! They replaced our plates and silverware after we finished our appetizers before the entree. It's like fine dining service. The nachos is a little bit spicier than what I expected but overall the food is great! We were expecting to spend near $100 for what we got but no.... It's only $60 + tip.. The price is good!
