The 2.8 rating is misleading! I don’t always eat Carribean food, but when I do it has to be as good as this! I got Curry Chicken with white rice & collard greens. All of it was hot, flavorful and a good portion! I ordered a side of whiting fish that wasn’t so warm, but flavorful and a good portion. Not a fan of rewarming up fish so I’ll take that L but if it was hot and fresh it would’ve also been on point. The Sorrel was also fresh and tasty. I enjoyed their food...
I'm not sure why this is rated poorly, but I guess that means this truly is the diamond in the rough. Amazing food, unique blend of spice and sweet around melt in your mouth meat and zingy but distinct cabbage and greens, and the sweetest smile you've ever seen. Careda cares for the food and it shows! Yes ox tail is not fillet mignon, but if you put hesitations aside, you might get some big flavors out of this tiny kitchen. The staff are friendly and patient, and the food is incredible!
The only thing was that I had to take my food to go, and I got the curry chicken. By the time I got somewhere that I could sit and eat, I noticed that the sleeve of my coat was just drenched in curry! I managed to get the box out of the paper bag that it was packed into, but there was so much food in it that the box kept breaking...
