5 Sisters Kitchen simply just might be the most underrated African spot. My boyfriend one night was doing work in the area and was told by folks nearby to try their food. He said he had been smelling the cooking all day. For dinner we decided to try them and we were not disappointed. First off let’s start with the most important when it comes to spending your money. CUSTOMER SERVICE was exceptional. We walked in literally 20 mins before closing and you wouldn’t have been able to know. They greeted us kindly with pure smiles walking in and even offered for us to dine in but we went to go respectfully. From there we ordered our food discussed the menu with free will to determine what we wanted today. I’m Nigerian and my partner is Caribbean so we were ready! Food came out fast and then we asked about an a la Carte item. They told us about it and even let us try it and boyyyyy SO GOOD. I’m gonna have to gate keep that one tho! Now onto the food! We have eaten from many African spots around the city. Our concerns across the board usually is too much oil , not enough food/stew to actually eat and poor meat selection. 5 Sisters met all that criteria to a T. The packaging and quantity is completely worth the price! The meat is tender, and it’s EDIBLE!! No surprises and no guessing. Oil isn’t spilling all over the place because they use good containers for to go orders. The food we ate was fresh. We’ve purchased food before from different place and could tell it was from either day before or stored from previous. As a hybrid African girl. When I eat my food I want good meat thats simple to eat. 5 sisters did that! Between the experience, the quality and price I will definitely be back. Thank you so much 5Sisters for being a great African restaurant that leads by great example. We ordered PALAVA sauce btw (:

I won’t lie the food was very good but the only thing I’m concerned about is the cleanliness. Because one of the elderly ladies that cooks there keep putting her hands in her mouth trying to get something out with a tooth pick she didn’t have gloves on or wash her hands after doing that’s and then was touching the food…..that’s was the only thing that was alarming to me to be honest the sanitation ugh smh.
I love the acheke and I always come and get it. No comparison like it from other restaurants I have eaten. 5 stars and good customer service

got tilapia grilled, jollof, fufu & potato greens. great for takeout. food was delicious. not a huge fan of the amt of oil but didn’t take away from the taste. portions are perfect. price was regular compared to places nearby. not too spicy but gave spices on the side. overall 7.5-10

I attempted to order today, and they didn't have anything I wanted to order. And whoever the lady was behind the register acted like I was bothering her.
Humble place with a daily menu offerings. I biked a long way to have dinner here and was satisfied! The team was super hospitable and happy to welcome a foreigner, and I even received tips on how to eat my meal. The servings are generous and delicious!
