This place has been on my list for some time and I was fortunate to visit at a downtime. Amongst a city full of pizza shops, Down North stands out among the greats. ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is relatively easy to find and seats no more than 5 or so people in the shop. The wait was a tad excessive which I credited to the food being "made with love". FOOD I love a good piece of focaccia! Another contributor commented that their pizza can be likened to focaccia which I would find to be incredibly accurate. The "Detroit" style was incredibly flavorful accompanied by a heaping of toppings(I settled on the "I'm A Boss"). I will admit the fries left a bit much to be desired but not enough to influence my rating. If you're based anywhere in North Philly between Farimount and Erie Ave, I can confidently say Down North is among the top three picks for the area. Happy eating!

The veggie pizza is sooo good they are filling but a little small so get two if you want leftovers. I wouldn't get the fries again, we got plain and they tasted like a combination of all the flavors, crab cheese ect and we couldn't finish them.

ELITE pizza experience in Philadelphia! I'm a huge fan of Detroit style pizza and this does not disappoint. We ordered online and picked up from the location. The pizza held up very well after the drive home and each one should be able to serve 2-3 people. Ordered the Roc the Mic (tomato, pepperoni) and Break You Off (lamb sausage, za'tar). You get your signature Detroit dough. Crispy square and layery dough similar to a focaccia. Roc the Mic reminded me of Prince St in NYC with its touch of spice and balance of flavors. However my fav was the Break You Off. I'm a toppings guy and this is a unique, delicious combination of ingredients, particularly with the garlic honey drizzle bringing it all together to create a magical bite.

Great food concept! Great Kitchen! Great Service! Great Mission! This could be easily franchised into locations across America! Wishing the owners good success.

Really cool spot! They serve Detroit style pizza, and you have to order online and pick up there - I didn't see any seating when I went in. All of their meats are beef/lamb, which was selfishly exciting since I don't eat pork. The sauce is on the sweeter side, but very good. Everything we ordered was great, I will definitely be back here.

I've gotten pizza and wings from Down North on different occasions through door dash and it's always been excellent. MUCH better than Pizza Jawn. The lamb pizza REALLY tastes like lamb and the red sauce is outstanding. Good Job DNP!

Some recommended this place. I was in the area, so I called in my Oder Parking: Residential Street Atmosphere: small, bright with nice wall decor. You can dine in as well as takeout. You have to use a card in order to place an order over the phone. Service: It was good. The cook and counter guy was going back and forth about inventory, so that was a little uncomfortable, but Pizza: I ordered their popular Roc The Mic, which is 4 Cheese + Beef Pepperoni + Norf Sauce (spicy). It was made to order, and it came out piping hot! I didn't taste spicy and would have liked more cheese and flavor. The pizza is a deep dish square pizza. $23 for the size was steep to me. I didn't eat all of it and reheated it the next day, and it didn't taste that good. Drink: lemonade. Strawberry, I believe, and it was good. Overall, the pizza was ok (not worth $23). Maybe the next time if I go back, I'll split it with someone, get extra cheese, and eat my portion in one sitting and

202305The first time I ate it was at an event where they set up a stall and it was amazing. Later, I went to the venue to eat. You can call to order first or you will have to wait for a long time. The thick pizza is delicious. The employees seem to be almost all freshmen and they are treated very friendly!

The pizza is great and worth the money. It's a deep dish that has a bit of weight to it. A pizza is enough to feed two or three
