Visiting from another country and needed to receive an email in an emergency. WiFi “is turned off“ after lunch. Empty tables but only option given was to stand at the coffee bar or be outside in metal chairs in the cold. Too bright and loud. Prices don’t justify the experience.

Disappointed with the expensive food. The Rival coffee was good but my quiche was not. It was spongy and tasteless. The bill came to $70. for two without alcohol or dessert. I would only go there again for the atmosphere and coffee

…just walking along looking for a nice b’fast place to find me and there it was! The ambiance of Enswell is lovely. My breakfast was scrumptious. If I had more stars to give I would.

I was skeptical at first, but Enswell is quickly becoming my favorite upscale cocktail bar in the city! In terms of atmosphere, its commitment to a kind of 1920s art deco aesthetic is very unique, feeling both fancy and grand but at the same time approachable and cozy. I particularly love all of the various glassware for the cocktails that elevate the experience in a nice way.
And speaking of drinks, they are certainly the highlight of a visit! They are exceptionally varied and seasonal, with a blend of classic style cocktails and very adventurous and unique. This visit I enjoyed a riff on a Manhattan with saffron that was excellent and a chai "negroni" that blended fall baking spices into an inviting and unusual bitter and spiced drink. I also was very surprised and impressed by the "ants on a log" inspired cocktail my wife got with flavors of celery, peanut butter, and port. I didn't think it would have been possible to balance those flavors in a drink but they pulled it off.
We've also had great experiences with the bartenders every time we've been. They have been helpful, friendly, and very informative and knowledgeable about their menu and it has enhanced our visits. The only thing about Enswell I can't really comment much on is the food. It seems like it's primarily a cocktail bar at night that has recently started serving more small bites and a few entrees. Everything I have seen looks pretty good but it's also fairly pricey. All in all I think Enswell stands tall next to a lot of strong competition for a good cocktail bar and I definitely recommend giving it a shot!

Perfect pre-dinner stop for appetizers and drinks. A thoughtful curation of n/a craft cocktails (try the E&T).

Great interior with bar seating and limited table seating, plus some outside tables. Excellent service, cocktails and food. Brunch on weekends. Coffee bar for takeout was also busy.

The place is beautiful. Bad wait staff. Got about 4 drinks and asked for a snack with the food which they brought out the tiniest Chex mix bowl. When I asked for more, we were told the chef does not allow them give out more. The waitress didn’t know what kind of cheese they had. Asked for coursed meals and they were all brought out at once. They need to educate the staff on proper etiquette. By the way, between 2 of us we had a 300 dollar bill. At that price end, I expect better care.
I hesitate to leave this review for fear I will have to fight through a crowd, but the world deserves to know: Order the roasted potatoes. The Madame Enswell is known to cure hangovers, bring good luck to your work week, and even improve your credit score. Service is always attentive and friendly without hovering. I should need to beat people back with a stick to get a table here on a Saturday.
They recently seem to have reduced serving sizes for brunch items, which is the only reason this isn't 5 stars. Well, that, and I once had dinner here and received chex mix as an amuse-bouche, which sent me into an ongoing culinary philosophy crisis.
But the point is that the food and cocktails here are delightful and locally sourced, the atmosphere both indoors and outdoors is perfect, and you should absolutely stay away and not bring your friends since there's limited seating!

Absolutely delicious! Incredibly creative chef! The Rival bros espresso was nice and rich with a bit of sweetness.
Fresh baked bread with the fermented strawberry butter was amazing. Excellent craft cocktails.
Spicy crab hash brown was sooo good.
Hanger steak was very tender and juicy with an incredible balsamic reduction and perfect cipollini onions.
They treated us to an original, homemade cracker jack ice cream. Chef is absolutely creative and remarkable!

I took myself on a date last night, and Enswell did not disappoint! I got the Pretty Baby cocktail, eggplant, and cheese board. They gave me a complimentary chex mix style snack to start, and it was so tasty.
My favorite item was the cheese board. The cheeses and accompaniments weren't your average pairings, and the flavors were so satisfying.
My server Irene was attentive and personable, and it was clear she cares about curating dining experiences to each guest's preferences.
I'll definitely be back again soon!

The host was very courteous to seat us with no reservations Which we really appreciated. Did not order any food but their cocktails were simply delicious. All the liquor is from Philadelphia based distilleries. Great service and they offered us free champagne for their anniversary celebration. Very tastefully done decor. Will definitely be back shortly
