Gou Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience, serving amazing Haitian cuisine that bursts with authentic flavors. The staff is welcoming and attentive, treating customers like family. The oxtail and plantains cups are particularly praised, with the chef receiving compliments. Gou is not just a restaurant, but a taste of Haitian culture and community, where heritage shines through. The food was delicious, with every dish on the plate being amazing, from the ox tails and gravy, rice, plantain and even the pickliz. Gou warmly welcomes all, with the owner spreading some wonderful cheer.
From the very first bite, Gou Restaurant delivers a culinary journey straight to Haiti. The meatballs and the Haitian pastry filled with smoked herring were perfect appetizers, savory and full of character, offering a surprising explosion of flavor, smoky and perfectly spiced. Tender conch, expertly seasoned, and rich oxtails that fell off the bone, layered with warm, aromatic spices, were amazing main dishes. The black rice paired beautifully with everything, completing a feast that truly celebrates Haitian cuisine. Every bite was bursting with flavor and crafted with care. The ambiance elevated the experience: warm lighting, vibrant music, and an atmosphere that transported guests straight to the island, with an undeniable sense of joy. Service was equally memorable, with the owners radiating friendliness, making the meal feel personal and genuine. This restaurant is more than a place to eat—it’s a feast of flavors, culture, and hospitality. The decor was amazing, the food delicious and the people so hospitable. It is a great Haitian restaurant.
