My go-to BBQ spot, lots of meat options in each tier they give you. The s’mores at the end is also great

Very disappointing experience.
I only went inside to pick up a takeout order (Uber Eats), not to dine in, but the restaurant was extremely hot even during my short 10–15 minute wait, which was uncomfortable.
When I got home, the pork was burnt. The restaurant agreed to remake it, which I appreciated, but instead of preparing a fresh bowl, they took my original container into the kitchen, removed the burnt pork, and added new pork on top of the same rice. The rice still had burnt residue in it.
This raised serious food safety concerns for me. I expected a completely fresh meal, not a reused container with food replaced.
I ultimately threw it away because I could still see and taste the burnt residue. Very disappointing overall.
Great first time experience at Gyu-Kaku. The service was great and they explained all the different menu options clearly. All the marinades are gluten free and they were able to tell us which meat option was not gluten free and make an easy switch. Would highly recommend if you are hungry and looking for a good Japanese BBQ experience!
I’ve always enjoyed the food at Gyu-Kaku, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
I spent nearly $80 on my order and arrived to pick it up. I briefly stepped away to grab a few items, came back, let the employee who took my order know I had returned, paid, and was told, “You can sit down and I’ll come get you.”
I then waited on the bench for about 25 to 30 minutes. Eventually, I became frustrated and went to ask what was going on. As soon as the employee saw me, the first thing he said was, “I forgot about you.”
To be honest, I found that insulting. I understand the restaurant was busy, and mistakes happen. I’ve worked in customer service and know that things can get hectic. But I was also a paying customer, and hearing that I had simply been forgotten made me feel like my patronage didn’t matter.
The issue wasn’t even the wait itself. It was the way it was handled. A more appropriate response would have been something like, “I sincerely apologise for the wait. Thank you for your patience.” Even if you did forget a customer, saying “I forgot about you” directly to them isn’t the best way to handle the situation.
The food here is still great, and I’ve generally had good experiences with the service in the past. However, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and showed that there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service and communication.
I hope the owners see this as constructive feedback and remind their staff that how you address a mistake can make all the difference to a customer’s experience.

They are scammer's charged me, and my friends twice on our credit card. We ate and paid, the next day another charged came off that morning before they opened. I called to see what was the issue? I was told it was a glitch in my bank and this happened to another customer. I called my bank and they specifically told me that this charge was directly from the restaurant and it was in their system which they can see it. The bank didnβt have anything to do with it, theyβre embezzling people out of their money.

Steven our trainee server was outstanding. He was prompt, courteous and educated us on how to use the hot pot. Also served us with a smile and remembered to point out the dessert we were interested in.

I brought my family here last night to celebrate my mothers birthday and it ended up being such a great experience. The staff was welcoming right away and made everything feel warm, and my mom absolutely loved the food.
Raisa was our server and she was amazing. Super sweet, greeted us with a smile, and she explained the menu really well. She checked in at the perfect times, almost like she just knew when we needed her, kind of like a genie haha.
She really made the night special for my mom. Weβll definitely be back and asking for Raisa again!
