What a treasure.
Real food made with love by real people.
A "must do" whenever I'm in Philly.
Don't miss the fried sweet potato cake. Your taste buds will thank you!

Great selection of veggie options and tastes amazing! The parking situation is a little tricky but totally worth it
Your only options are a rice platter with a few curries and sides with vegetables and meat. I'm a vegetarian and there are tons of options.
My plate had the rice, stewed jackfruit curry, tofu and tempeh rendang, collard greens in a coconut milk sauce and a vegetable fritter. The rice was perfectly cooked and the sides I got were flavourful. I also had a side of sambal which was probably the best I've had outside southeast asia. Highly recommend!

Bright side of the city of Philadelphia??
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant! The atmosphere lends to the homey and filling food, you definitely feel like your best friend made you a meal from the heart. The owner is super friendly!
Plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians, and other.

The atmosphere is very homely, space is limited so it may not be able to accommodate many visitors. The food is quite similar to the original taste. I enjoyed mixed rice with rendang and balado eggplant as a side dish, plus es teler. $22-24 including tip.

This is everything. It's a must. The food portion texture flavor hospitality. The beef and chicken were some if the best things I ate in this city.
36 dollars for a platter with 4 sides and 3 of the sides were non protein. For cold food in a small takeout location in south Philly not only is this place expensive but it’s a scam. The food is bland and not worth the money at all. Hard to justify paying that much money for such little and low quality food would not recommend at all.

The food taste is average, too sweet, the place is not really clean. With the location, the small place, plastic plate and plastic utensil, with no service ( take your own drink and put the plate to the garbage bin after), the price is too high. I ate nasi campur, a litle bit of jack fruit curry, and stir fry tempe tahu plus 1 egg, it cost me USD 18.75, however the guy only asked me to pay USD 17.50. I am not sure why. I dont recommend this place. If I may, I recommend the owner to improve to make people want to comeback or recomend the place to other.
Parking: No parking lot as the restaurant location is in the residential, find the parking spot in the neighborhood, which I am sure it is not easy. We were just lucky as we came early even before they opened. The resto opened late, almost 1 o'clock.

Hardena, a gem we discovered years ago on Food Network, finally made it onto our Philadelphia itinerary! While street parking can be tricky, a nearby paid lot offered a convenient solution. The restaurant itself is cozy, with just a few tables for dine-in. It's more of a fast-casual setup, where you order at the counter. Keep in mind, there's no AC or fan, so it can get warm.
Despite the heat, the food truly shines. It's delicious Indonesian cuisine, though not specific to the Surabaya region. Unfortunately, some items sell out quickly, which was the case during our 3 pm visit. While it's on the pricier side, the unique flavors are worth the splurge. Highly recommend Hardena, but be prepared for limited seating and a potentially warm environment.

Slow and inattentive service. Surprise prices only revealed after you order (expect 20+ dollars per plate). Food is served on paper plates with a plastic fork. When you’re finished eating, you set your waste atop an overflowing trash can. The family who runs it seems nice, but I won’t return, nor would I recommend it to others.

Two of us had dinner from a selection of their offerings. Food was underseasoned and bland, totally unexpected for Indonesian food. Food was not hot and was expensive.

LOVE! They have some tables but takeout is best. Tons of delicious vegetarian options. I love the tempeh, eggplant, tofu curry, and collard greens! Also make sure you get some sambal when you check out! It's not cheap (my veggie platters with 4 sides usually come to $25-30), but I usually get 2 meals out of it.

The best Indonesian food I’ve ever had. It’s been 10years but it was worth the stop with I’m in Philly. The fish is thee best thing but all the food is great.

Today I ordered nasi campur. It consist of white rice, potato, lodeh, Tempe, and gulai kambing. The gulai kambing they gave me 6 pieces of meat which 4 of them barely has any meat at all because the bones were so big !! ?? And guess how much is the price of nasi campur??? $25.6 + tax !! (I don't even know how they've come up with that number because there was no price list for the nasi campur). Yup you heard that right!! $25.6 + tax !! That must be the most expensive nasi campur dish in the whole wide world!! You could have gone to a famous fancy Korean BBQ buffet for that money!! I guess I got scammed!!Never again !! ??
