Hawthorne's is a lot of fun. We love the server Joe and the food is incredible. It's interesting because there's something different every time. Great family place and also fun for dates. Parking around there is also pretty easy.

It was a cool looking place. I had the Greek salad and it was drenched in dressing and the chicken didn't have any flavor to it. My husband falafel sandwich was very good. The music was extremely loud.

I used to live closer to Hawthorne's and frequented it more often. But I've been there twice in the last two weeks: once for dinner and once for brunch. Both times the food was delicious. The service is okay. They are very nice but not the most efficient, but it doesn't diminish the experience. And the prices are reasonable. I will make a note to eat there more often.

I visited for my birthday last March, because in my Google search it showed as kid friendly and all day breakfast. However, upon arrival the restaurant changed its menu and no longer serves all day brunch. But let me tell you the food was Absolutely Delicious and the staff were fantastic! The Chef even brought food out to our table and offered to take a group photo for us. I highly recommend the Mozzarella sticks which are more like egg rolls, the Bang Bang Chicken! I will definitely visit again on my next visit to Philly ?!

The food was out of this world and they were so accommodating to the kids in our group. They did warn us as soon as we got there that the kitchen would take a while to get the food out.

Very disappointed in Hawthornes today and the lack of interest in making a long-time customer happy. The restaurant has recently updated their menu and they've removed the only item I used to order from them, the Philly Fried Chicken sandwhich - one of the best fried chicken sandwhiches I've ever had which is why it was my go-to order. I can literally see the restaurant from my kitchen window and have ordered this consistently since they added it to their menu in 2020.Noticing that they were still offering a Chicken sandwhich (now on a biscuit), I called to see if they would acommodate still making the old item off-menu, especially since they still have all of the ingredients that it took to make listed through other dishes on their menu. The person who answered the phone was willing to check it out, and shortly after someone else answered the phone who was unwilling to be helpful. He said he could swap the biscuit for a roll, but not willing to do anything else. When I pushed a little more he didn't offer any explanation when I pointed out that all of the old ingredients of the sandwhich were still available through other dishes, just basically said no, non-apologetically, and rudely got off the phone with me.I see the owner of the restaurant all the time and look forward to the next time I'm able to catch her to provide this feedback in person. For now, I wanted to let the restaurant know how disappointed I was in their lack of any desire for what would have been an easy customer service win on their part.

Everything was excellent! We ordered wings as a starter. They came out crispy with a delicious dry rub, just the way I like it. My breakfast sandwich with the brioche bun hit the spot. The smashed fingerling potatoes were cooked perfectly. Joe, our server, was attentive, patient, and super friendly. The restaurant has a cozy vibe with a fireplace. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely return.

The food is good. Don't pay extra for fruit on your pancakes or French toast. They cut up 1 strawberry split on both pieces of French toast.

Every time I go here I am impressed. One of, if not the best, brunch/lunch spots in the city. Their chicken and waffles is ?– and a huge portion. The french toast is another great choice – caramelized on the outside but still soft and moist in the center. Also have had their burger which is a Big Mac copycat but 10x better. My partner and I always stop in when we are in the neighborhood.

My friend and I met here and even though we both gave in the reservation we were seated separately and had to find each other which was weird. Otherwise- the food was incredible and the service was great. Love their ever changing menu and specials. The coffee wasn't good but it so rarely is these days. Will definitely be back. Hawthorne's is a mainstay.

Was in Philly for a weekend and had brunch here on a Saturday. Reservations are a must and be sure to book them because it's a must-visit! One of our favorite meals in all of the city, the chicken & waffles are beyond words the new chef is a genius as everything from the biscuits to the pancakes to the dishes were extraordinary. Be sure to dine here when in Philly!

I ordered the Chicken and Waffle for brunch. It's the best chicken and the best waffle I've ever eaten. I've had fried chicken from Charles Pan Fried in Harlem, a few super local chicken spots in the South and countless other places. It's every flavor at once: candy sweet syrup, an extra savory cheddar waffle, crunchy, chewy and moist fried chicken with a strong spice sprinkled on both. It's topped with bacon butter, which adds a nice sweet kick to tie everything together. It's the best chicken I've ever had. Highly doubt chicken gets better than this Philly gem, never miss a chance to grab an order here if you're in any part of Philly
