I had an excellent time at High Street, dining solo for Valentine's Day. I sat at the bar, and while the stools were a little wobbly at first (I'm heavy set), they ended up being comfy for the duration. The bartender, Adam, was knowledgeable and funny. The table we were seated at had the worst cold draft ever. I was wearing my jacket because I was literally shivering. Unfortunately the restaurant couldn't shift us to another table.
We really wanted to visit this place because of the Michelin exposure. I ordered the squash pizza and parts were ok but the pieces of squash were too big. The chicken sandwich was very very tasty. When the staff reset a table, it would get cleaned but not the floor. Floors were dirty under the tables. We asked for selection of pastries, we were told that only scones were left. That was not true as muffins and other pastries were brought to tables around us. Unfortunately, not...
