There once comes a restaurant or food that is so ingrained into your childhood, that you would even travel an hour to just pick up a dish. Huong Tram was that place for me. I remember my first experience of their food here was the variety of Banh Mis that I wolfed down after a single bite. Upon hearing of a new restaurant opening up dedicated to the Banh Mi's operated by the same sweet old woman who I've begun to recognize as the chef, I was delighted. I visited as often...
One of the few best Vietnamese Places around. They want to shut the plaza down to build houses because its not owned by minority. Does selling grocercies for cheap and because they want something more expensive makes sense, well it does for hipsters.Shame on the city of Philadelphia, wording it not to make it sound racist.
A hidden gem Vietnamese spot. As good as all the spots a few blocks east, but not as busy, easier to park, and connected to a pretty rad grocery store (note, grocery store really isn't for the faint of heart or the culturally unaware if you explore the live fish and frog selection in the back).
