I have no complaints, I purchased the whiting platter with shrimp....4 nice size whiting and 4 nice sized shrimp with cabbage and fries for a very nice price of 19.00. Customer service was great, the food was hot and fresh. I consider myself to have a hearty appetite and I couldn't finish it all, I'll have the rest for breakfast in the morning. That's the best food for the price and great customer service, I'll be back to try something else definitely!!!Parking: I found parking across the street.
I came here because of the reviews but I was very disappointed in the food. Mac was not seasoned at all and noodles were overcooked .Yams were ok but I was most disappointed in the stuff salmon it had no taste and the crab meat was just thrown on top and a dry roll with soul food just is disappointing . This is not a good soul food place . They received 1 star because they were nice not because the food

I absolutely love Jamil's Cafe sooooo much,I really mean this,the food is A1 alway around the board,and their dessert is sooooo delicious,I had lemon cake which was perfect and fresh,and the strawberry crunch cake is Mt absolute favorite,I will continue to order from Jamil's until I can't anymore...??? Thank you so much for Great Quality food and dessert.....
This is my second time having food from Jamil's in the last year and the quality has been the same both times. The service is slow which is to be expected when certain things are cooked to order. It's takeout only and it's in your best interest to place your order closer to when they open vs near closing time as they do sell out at times. I ordered fried whiting, yams and seafood salad both times. The yams are sweet and delicious. The whiting is good and I normally add hot sauce for extra flavor. The seafood salad is good as well as it's seasoned.

Food is hot, tasty, and plentiful. Unless you are extremely hungry, you will eat twice from your platter. Customer service is informative and polite...phone call made to me for corrections. A happy go-to place to eat.

Here's the thing about soul food...some people can make it, some can't. Jamil's Cafe CAN make IT!!! I went there HUNGRY, HUNGRY - after a long morning of work. I ordered fried whiting, yams & cabbage. Let's just say - Jamil's is on my LIST now. Everything & I do mean EVERYTHING was ?. I love me some fish and mine was fried perfect!!!! Because I'm greedy, I had to get some cake too. That lemon cake....babeeee it did not disappoint!!! If you haven't tried Jamil's Cafe, you should!!!

I ordered through DD, and it arrived hot and on time. Everything was delicious. I had the whiting and shrimp platter with greens, seafood salad n a side of Mac n cheese. The side of mac for $5 was skimpy for the price but was good. I definitely support Black owned businesses if food is good. Overall, I recommend and will order again.
