This place is totally awesome!
We went on a Friday night, around dinner time and originally only wanted to just have an appetizer and maybe a couple of drinks... well, it wound up becoming more - based on the service, appetizer, we decided to stay longer.

We had a Spinach salad and a Tortilla soup as appetizers - generous portions BTW - then proceeded to have some entrees... Highly recommended

Luna is a great bartender. Nachos del Rancho were good with pastor. Drinks were in point. Will be back for another happy hour session, mainly because the bartender is attentive, welcoming, and good at what he does.

Since the first time I’ve been to La Llorona they can’t never fail to surprise. Their food, their atmosphere and their service are one of the greatest In Philly. Highly recommended if you want to celebrate your birthday or any special occasion. La Llorona YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST ‼‼‼

100% recommend it! La Llorona is more than just a restaurant — it feels like home. This place is very special to me and my friends because every time we visit, we are welcomed like family. The kindness and hospitality from everyone there always make the experience memorable.
I have never been disappointed by the food or cocktails. Everything is consistently delicious, and you can tell there is a lot of care and authenticity put into what they do. They also host special authentic events that make the atmosphere even more unique and meaningful.
La Llorona is one of those rare places where you feel comfortable, appreciated, and connected. If you’re looking for amazing food, great drinks, and genuinely warm people, this is the place to be.

10/10 over all… no wait, food, service, drinks were all 10/10. Everything was well prepared, workers were extremely helpful and every welcoming. No complaints here, will definitely be coming around frequently.

Great paasion fruit margaritas. I love their salmon and sweet potatoes dinner and the tacos al pastor. The staff are very friendly and always remember us when we visit. Adriana the owner and Alex the GM are wonderful people. Jeovanny one of the bartenders is very friendly and accommodating. Hugo is always happy and very eager to serve the clients. The cook Javier is also very friendly and likes to get feedback about his food. A bigger menu would be great

Very unhappy with the food, low quality and overpriced. They also cancelled my order after waiting an hour. I would recommend going to a different Mexican restaurant, there are a lot of great options in South Philly.

Nice spot for a great margarita. Upbeat atmosphere. Great for meeting friends to hang out for a while and Munch on chips and guac.
Food is okay, steak tacos not the best quality of meat but okay.
We were a large party, service was great!

Been trying to figure out what’s up with this place. I was here a month ago with my partner and experienced the similar thing.

On the first visit there was no one there so we we waited by the door, basically getting ran over by staff and customers (there is literally no where to wait to be seated because there is a big stupid plant in the way) the hostess came up to us and angrily told us we were in the way and to try and find a spot to stand, later when seated she rudely over explained to us the rules of being patient when sitting at a restaurant to us for 5 minutes. We apologized both feeling terrible and explained to her that we just couldn’t find a spot to wait and it wasn’t intentional being in the way, we didn’t want to wait outside and be forgotten about because it was so busy and many costumers were getting seated before us. We brushed it off had dinner it was great food

So moving onto today. We decided to try it again, we had the same hostess. The restaurant was basically empty, and we asked to sit outside, she grudgingly stared at her iPad for seating and didn’t say anything, she then said that she had to check outside because there were allegedly reservations (totally fine) she comes back and says there’s no outdoor seating and we have to sit inside (again totally fine) as we’re walking to our seats she immediately start aggressively talking down to my partner in a very belittling tone and once again starts over explaining to us like children how if we want to sit outside we need to add a note on a reservation (again fine) but then she continued to over explain in a nasty tone and almost started arguing with us, we didn’t even order we just left.

The whole exchange now twice in a row is just gross and needs to be held accountable. Which is such a shame because we’re probably going to spend a lot money at this place tonight, and now I don’t really want eat here again.

Food is great though, service is terrible, praying for yall.🙏
