Stumbled in here on a Friday night for a nightcap and was disappointed with the service and also the drinks. The bartender seemed disinterested in serving me and his demeanor wasn’t very inviting.
I ordered an espresso martini and a mezcal paloma. The mezcal paloma was good, but the espresso martini was so watery and bitter I took it back. I asked for another paloma and the bartender handed me an old fashioned, which wasn’t what I asked for and not great either.
Overall, I was disappointed with the drinks and the way the bartender handled the situation. I wouldn’t come back.

Unfortunately the quality has just gone down and down over the years... Bartenders just get the drinks from a fountain... Even an old fashioned comes from a fountain... Expensive for the quality. Go to poste haste down the street for some really high quality drinks for about the same price and way better atmosphere.

I got a custom coctail (Lavendar Soritz) with vodka instead of gin, and no soda. It was light & lovely. The vibe was great and the waiter was a doll.
Best cocktails, hands down. Sad to see it closing.

The chopped and smoked sandwich is offensive to brisket. This is my first time and everything else looks and smells great. Don't get the chopped and smoked.

We got the miso Caesar, Italian hoagie, bahn mi, and which ever non alc fruity drink with the passion fruit in it. The miso Caesar salad was delish until I connected the smell to a memory which was ~vintage Tupperware~. I couldn’t eat anymore after that but before I had that thought it was delish. Sandos were amazing and the drink was yummy! Service was perf per usual.

I'm still digesting the vibe of Martha.
Outside, there is a sign that you'll be entering a place that considers itself weird and asks you to join it. Walking in, I certainly agree that I don't totally understand the vibe: the decorations are rather random (though I truly love them?) and the music is all over the place (why did the song Amber from 2001 and Chappel Roan get thrown on the same playlist?). To that respect, I think the place tries a bit hard.
That wouldn't bother me if there was a bit more cohesion to the menu or if it made sense. Truly, we had some trouble picking what to get. The heroes are a conglomeration of things, none of which follow a theme. In terms of the food, we started (this actually came last) with the crab toast. This was like an open-faced tuna melt and was actually fairly nice. Probably should be listed in the main section instead of an app (it's $14 and substantial). Mains started with the miso Caesar and we added tofu. It bothered me ever so much that they didn't offer any other proteins besides tofu for a Caesar salad, as tofu is like the last thing I want here (and they offer meat elsewhere on the menu, so it isn't as if they are vegan). The flavoring of this salad was fascinating. It's called a miso salad but I tasted minimal miso and did taste a lot of the pistachios they advertised. The tofu was strangely spicy-only strange when it's added to this salad. Our other main was the turkey hero which was fine... came with some nice chips and a pickle. Wish the distribution of the cheese on the sandwich was a bit more even.
One thing that bothered me endlessly in the realm of the randomness of the menu is the choice of the Asian influences. Specifically bothersome is the fact that on the menu "banh mi" is spelled wrong. It just makes me question a little bit where this influence came from.
The drink menu is pretty extensive and has a few nice options. They're open until midnight so I imagine maybe this is where they shine? As more of a bar with snacks?
The staff is so nice, so I really wanted to enjoy the overall experience. It's very accessible with easy parking. So maybe worth popping in at night for an interesting drink!

We stopped into Martha during our painful wait for our Picnic reservation and were mad that we just didn’t stay here all night. Our bartenders lamont and Nick were extremely knowledgeable and super sweet. We learned that ramp gin is a thing! We didn’t have any food but went back a couple of days later to enjoy a cold pizza and a very tasty turkey hoagie! It seemed like the majority of the patrons were people waiting for Picnic, and I hope that they just skip picnic next time and continue to support this lovely little spot.

Martha has a salad I think about on a regular basis. Obsessed is an understatement. They're so nice and accommodating too. Haven't had a bad dish, bad service, or bad time at Martha. It's magical there!
