Worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. People who were seating long after our table had finished their meals before we got ours. Also soup and hot cider were not hot enough and the waiter handed me the wrong platter. The service was so bad they comped our check. Also the noise level was almost deafening. A terrible experience.
Just a regular old tavern with good food and brews

McNally's Tavern in Chestnut Hill offers a unique dining experience with its signature "Schmitter" sandwich. The Schmitter is a twist on the classic cheesesteak, featuring onions, tomatoes, salami, and a special sauce reminiscent of a Big Mac. Despite the unusual combination, the flavors blend together harmoniously, creating a delightful and satisfying meal. The restaurant boasts a cool, lively atmosphere, with tin mugs hanging from the ceiling and sports playing on the TVs. It is a true Tavern with everything expected, including a few great sandwiches that are special. The family-run staff truly cares about the guests, which adds to the friendly vibe of the place. Although the popularity of the establishment can lead to a loud and chaotic environment, especially on weekends, visitors are greeted with warm smiles upon arrival. The menu is somewhat limited but serves delicious sandwiches highlighted by The Schmitter and the chicken cheesesteak, which may not look appealing with melted cheese but delivers satisfying flavor. Guests also recommend trying the chocolate cake. McNally's is considered a great local bar with reasonable prices and food prepared with pride, making it a memorable spot for a tasty twist on the classic cheesesteak and a great find for an afternoon lunch after exploring Chestnut Hill shops.
